Nope, I have no idea what a present shitting log is either.

See post 2 for links etc and note the addition of a link with more info to the mn Christmas appeal, a very good cause if you're looking to donate to charity this Christmas time.

Right you lot. You egged me on to buy the giant stuffed crocodile dragon.... Any ideas how I am going to wrap the bloody thing?

Wrapping Robert for my neice was a two person job!!

Nursenat100 · 21/12/2016 15:37

Not a bargain but after a bit of inspiration from you clever lot!

Mr nurse wants to feel better about himself in new year. He's joined a gym (!!!!!) and I'm making him a little gift bag with stuff to support feeling good, not necessarily to do with exercise. I've got some nice body and skin products, some multivitamins and then I'm stuck. Any ideas?

beadyboo · 21/12/2016 16:19

Nurse, how about a little hand towel for the gym, a water bottle, sports socks, a few protein bars or one of those shakers for protein milkshakes.
If you have a bigger budget, I got a Fitbit for my birthday and it's been amazing how much it's spurred me on to walk more.
Sounds like a lovely present.

cookiefiend · 21/12/2016 16:26

Nurse- nice t shirt for the gym? Headphones that done fall off when he is moving around. A practical gum bag? If they aren't provided there a towel?

CarrotVan · 21/12/2016 16:48

bebeside how big is the croc? If you curl the tail round would you be able to make a tube out of a big sheet of thin card (stationers, craft shop) and then use extra wide wrapping paper to make a cracker shape?

Just a reminder that Simon Wolfson, CEO of Next, voted to cut tax credits.

SomethingOfTheNight · 21/12/2016 18:06

Asda have reduced some of their Christmas bedding reduce. MY delivery date is showing as 30th December tho, but still useful as a spare or for next year Xmas Smile.

SomethingOfTheNight · 21/12/2016 18:08

*where did that extra 'reduce' come from? Xmas Blush

OhHolyFuck · 21/12/2016 19:32

Some Waitrose gift hampers half price and delivery for tomorrow if you're quick, would make a nice last minute gift

MrsCocoa · 21/12/2016 20:04

Whole chestnuts (peeled and in vacuum pack) £1 in Tesco! (Same pack £3 in Waitrose). Every liittle and all that....

BeBesideTheSea · 21/12/2016 21:17

Nice idea Carrot but it is about 5' long!

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 21/12/2016 22:40

I wouldn't wrap it. Would just give him a huge bow round his neck (possibly peeping out a huge gift bag)

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 21/12/2016 22:43

nurse what about a hamper of healthy foods with a cook book? I've bought DH deliciously Ella. We love the microwave packets of puy lentils, use chia seeds and flax seeds in smoothies, lots of nuts, dried fruit? We also love our nutri bullet.

confuugled1 · 22/12/2016 00:42

Besides places like B&M, home bargains and maybe Poundland had festive bin bags like Xmas puds, Santa, snowmen etc. They could work really well.

Or places like Halfords and I think Poundland sold bike bags that were just giant red/etc sacks big enough to cover a bike. Guessing most bike retailers would have or be sble to point you in the direction of something similar. 22

Anyone looking for a Christmas film (and have Amazon prime) the snowman and the snowdog is £2.99. DD (who was two last year) adored it- we ended up watching it for months. The music is lovely too.

Thank you all for your ideas, it's to get today now

HighDataUsage · 22/12/2016 07:47

Lots of shops have boxes lying around, just ask if you can have a large one to wrap a toy in. Im sure they won't mind.

Morrisons have the Jacobs christmas cracker selection for a £1 while Tescos is selling it for £3.

BeBesideTheSea · 22/12/2016 08:03

You lot are geniuses! Festive sack is the way to go for sure (family joke from Christmas past).

THANK YOU

GingleBellsAndSonicSleigh · 22/12/2016 09:36

DP broke up with me, I need something for under a tenner for me that I can prime to myself.

I don't want fussing over, I'm OK. I just think I deserve a treat.

Iggi999 · 22/12/2016 09:39

Oh lord Gingle I'm so sorry to hear that. For me it would be £10 spent on chocolate to be honest. Or books of the losing-yourself-in-them variety.

GingleBellsAndSonicSleigh · 22/12/2016 09:58

Thanks iggi I've got a friend coming with gin this evening, I've got all my nice Christmas foods in, will go to hotel chocolat on my way to work.

RJnomore1 · 22/12/2016 10:40

I've just ordered myself the logo game fromamazon, it's £16.50 which I think is a good price and will be here in time to play on Xmas day

TobleroneBoo · 22/12/2016 11:00

There arent any Molton Brown codes floating about are there?

Eva50 · 22/12/2016 12:23

Oh, Gingle I'm sorry 😢

I don't suppose anyone has a Saltrock code they don't want. Ds has just asked for a hoodie from there (Christmas delivery until 5pm today) and I can only find new customer codes. I think they already have all my email addresses!
