GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 08/12/2016 12:27

Nope, I have no idea what a present shitting log is either.

See post 2 for links etc and note the addition of a link with more info to the mn Christmas appeal, a very good cause if you're looking to donate to charity this Christmas time.

Thanks for the ideas..
have decided to go with something from neom and a necklace I found on etsy!

Thanks again

Badders123 · 14/12/2016 11:18

I've twitched on myself today!!
Got some Ren skincare from marks - some good discounts on beauty
Ds1 then told me it's his class secret Santa on Friday (!) so I've ordered a cheap gift from Amazon

SitsOnFence · 14/12/2016 11:26

Sounds like my life before DC namechangingagainagain

I would have loved a nice coffee table book with lots of pretty pictures of lovely places, or the latest edition of Where to ski and snowboard

SitsOnFence · 14/12/2016 11:26

Sorry, x-post!

FallenSky · 14/12/2016 11:40

Quick question, especially for any teachers out there. I've got 9 teachers/TA's to buy for. I've bought them all a £5 Costa gift card each and I was going to give a box of chocolates each as well (celebrations/heroes type things) does that sound OK? If so, are there any offers on chocolates anywhere?

Continuing on the chocolate theme, I also need 11 selection boxes. I usually manage to find a 3 for 2 offer on them around this time but I can't find any. Any ideas would be great! Thanks

namechangingagainagain · 14/12/2016 11:42

thats fine sitsonafence... that book actually looks ideal for her husband ( but ive already sent beer!) so I will mentally save for next year!

ASpiderInTheManger · 14/12/2016 11:58

Does anyone know where I can get a bargain Christmas tree skirt and also one of those projectors for outside the house that projects Christmas pictures onto the house? Dd really wants one but the ones I've seen were £60 and can't stretch that far! Thanks in advance Xmas Smile

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 14/12/2016 12:18

Spider I got a cheap (£3.99) I think Christmas tree skirt from The Range. To be honest, its not the prettiest...quite garish and its pissing glitter everywhere but I just wanted something to stand the tree on to stop it dropping needles and dirt on my new carpet. They had more tasteful ones for about £15 I think.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 14/12/2016 12:19

No ideas about projecters but my DS loves them too so I am watching for updates!

namechangedtoday15 · 14/12/2016 12:28

I'm just looking at the Hollister website after a link on here - can anyone tell me what size I should be ordering for an 11.5yr old girl - slim build, average height? Thank you!

Eva50 · 14/12/2016 13:09

The Entertainer has £15 off £50 if you sign in with Amazon. But I'm finished, I'm finished, I'm finished. I'll just have a little look.

sherbertdibdab · 14/12/2016 13:28

Fallen as a teacher I would be very happy to receive that!

Serendipitystardust1 · 14/12/2016 13:39

Fallen - I believe boxes of quality street are 2 for £2 in Tesco at the mo. B & M have 2 for £1.50 on the small cadburys selection boxes or 2 for £3 (I think) on the larger boxes.

ASpiderInTheManger · 14/12/2016 13:40

Thank you IToldYou.
namechange, I used to buy my dd ladies size small in jokester hoodies when she was 11 and was also slim and average height.

ASpiderInTheManger · 14/12/2016 13:41

That's hollister not jokester Grin

MissRainbowBrite · 14/12/2016 13:41

A couple of Costco bargains if anyone has a membership.
They had Starlily unicorn for just under £60 (usually about £80 I think) and a KidKraft wooden kitchen for £42 (should be £75).
Their toy aisle is rapidly dwindling so I think these have been marked down to get rid.

nickdrakeslovechild · 14/12/2016 13:44

I have an unexpected present to get for a 13 year old boy. Parents have lots of money so really wants for nothing. What are 14 year old boys into?? Budget of around £10 Also a 9 year old girl, are they still into barbie etc at 9?

GoodQueenWenchEatsLess · 14/12/2016 14:06

Any ideas for my mid-60s very young at heart mum please? So far I have got her a photo canvas of the dcs and an annual pass to a museum that she likes but feel like I want to get something else.

I quite like the look of the Neom candles someone linked to up thread but I'm not 100% sold on that idea so would be grateful for alternative (and bargainous!) suggestions.

SomethingOfTheNight · 14/12/2016 14:13

Hasbro Simon Air Game down to £12.53, lowest ever according to CCC.

sh700 · 14/12/2016 14:14

ihate I have a 9 month old and a few young nieces and nephews so the coupe will find a home.

What did the posters without pets who bought pet beds do with them I wonder? Xmas Grin

AlwaysOldBeforeMyTime · 14/12/2016 14:57

apparently the "Santa is coming to ..." books are half prince at the mo at the works, and can be reduced to £1.60 with code viking20
Meant to be nice books

CarrotVan · 14/12/2016 15:00

Any thoughts about crackers? Where does nice cheap ones?

Changingagain · 14/12/2016 15:13

sh700 I do actually have a cat but my shark bed never turned up, I think it was the same for most people. So the ones without any pets probably did a sigh of relief 😌

beadyboo · 14/12/2016 15:24

I need some inspiration please. I've just been real life shopping in John Lewis, wandered round for ages, had my free coffee and cake and came home empty handed!
Boy, almost 11, getting an Xbox from his parents and only really interested in football. Budget of £10 ish
BIL, new dad, drives a van all day, no real hobbies. Not a coffee cup, did that last year!! Budget £25 ish.
I'm totally stumped.
Thanks for all your ideas this year, so helpful.
