Nope, I have no idea what a present shitting log is either.

See post 2 for links etc and note the addition of a link with more info to the mn Christmas appeal, a very good cause if you're looking to donate to charity this Christmas time.

Thanks. Went and bought a gift voucher on audible. Also sorts the problem that I remembered I am seeing her tomorrow.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 11/12/2016 19:03

This time in two weeks all the presents will be opened and I'm hoping we'll all be here at some point after Christmas to share how the gifts went down (and share photos of Robert the unicorn).

Thank Oreo, I checked Ikea but they aren't big enough I need the seat pads to be 18 ins square. Also looked at Dunelm and they had some nice plain ones but they don't deliver them and the nearest store is miles away.

Back to internet searching but thanks for trying to hunt some down for me.

The letteroom (personalised gifts) has 20% off using HOHOHO until midnight.

Fab for decorations, stocking fillers and other personalised gifts such as Prosecco scented toiletries, monogram nail polish and train track tape.

MeMyElfAndI I reupholstered my dining room chairs really easily using a staple gun, they look really good- if I do say so myself! You just need a staple gun, some hard wearing fabric and if necessary, new padding (this will depend how your current padding is!). Took about 5 mins a chair!

AlwaysOldBeforeMyTime · 11/12/2016 19:52

Thanks for the cocktail present ideas! I happened to find a nice cocktail shaker in Aldi-thought it may help someone else as it's a fairly generic present!

Finally feel like I'm getting somewhere with presents but really stuck on my mum thus year for some reason-normally find lots of crafty bits for her!

Changingagain · 11/12/2016 19:56

I also did my dining chairs with a staple gun, very easy and very effective. Much easier and quicker than trying to find ones you like in the right shape and size.

MeMyElfandI · 11/12/2016 20:11

Unfortunately the chairs are slatted metal bottom ones with seat pads on top so nothing to nothing to reupholster other wise would have given it a go as am a bit of a whiz with glue gun and staple gun.

Pink and greene NT tea voucher- it doesn't tell you which places participate except 'on the voucher' (which I can't see)- how would I know if nearest place isn't miles away? Would the recipient have to pay entry to property in order to get a cuppa?

Methenyouplus4 · 11/12/2016 20:29

Thank you for suggestions for SS (can't recall who it was). Bought a Roger the Dodger annual for £1.29 Inc delivery from ebay and going to get the black paper/white pencil too-fab ideas.

lazzaroo · 11/12/2016 20:31

Can anyone recommend a good starter sewing machine for a 7 year old?

Badders123 · 11/12/2016 20:33

The IKEA sewing machines get good reviews and are £40

Blerg · 11/12/2016 20:34

John Lewis have a good child's sewing machine for £50 or so, in a range of colours. I use one myself but did some research and it seems popular.

lazzaroo · 11/12/2016 20:37

Speedy replies....thank you!

confuugled1 · 11/12/2016 20:50

memyelf bit of a wild shot but do you have a good market nearby?

Our local market has a stall there 1 or 2 days a week that sells furnishing foam they cut to size - everything from mattress size to seat pads. They also have some ready done pads.

If they didn't have anything you liked you could get foam pads cut to size and make simple covers. Or if you don't want to make them they might be able to do it or suggest somebody who could.

Asking in your local John Lewis or debenhams or hobbycraft might get a similar result but at more expense!

Outofoptions · 11/12/2016 21:38

Does anyone have a NOTHS code please?

HighDataUsage · 11/12/2016 21:38

Playmobil 123 police & Ambulance player massively reduced to £12 99 in Argos

AlwaysOldBeforeMyTime · 11/12/2016 22:05

Methenyou-pretty sure they'll have to pay entrance still I'm afraid!

FreddieBoswellsHair · 12/12/2016 00:19

memyelf have you tried The Range?

They had some in there the other week and I think they deliver as well.

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 12/12/2016 00:59

The Works: this is on the back of the little catalogue they have in the store. I saved £30+ and will have £20 of points to spend in January, as it was Triple Points when I went in yesterday.
