Boy trousers - posting for Mummy traffic

Not Christmas as such but need help !

I am having trouble getting trousers that will fit my DS round the waist. .... Gap, M&S, JL and Fat Face are all ok in leg but tight round middle for my 9 year old DS - TBH he does have a little tummy despite all sport he does - any suggestions . Only ones that he is OK with at mo are cord Boden Baggies.

You do realise that other parts of Mumsnet will also have noticeable amounts of "mummy traffic"? The clue is kind of in the name.

However FWIW, buy the trousers in a size that fits him round the waist and take the legs up. It's really not rocket science.

It's not really a Christmas question and we don't like being called mummies - I'd ask in chat. There's plenty of traffic there from all types of people.

Why don't you just buy to fit his waist? Leg length is easily adjusted

Buy trousers to fit his waist and take the leg up. If you can't sew use Wonderweb.

You guys are mean. Although FYI op plenty of non-mums including me enjoy celebrating and planning Christmas. It's not the most obvious part of mumsnet for 'mum only' threads, really.

Well, I'm a non-mummy but would suggest buying a pair where the waist fits and taking the legs up if too long.

Why not buy the Boden ones, as they fit?

I'm not sure you need to be fecund to advise that you buy the correct waist size and take the leg up as required (yourself, or most dry cleaners will do it for a small fee).

Have you tried Sainsburys? They're pretty good. I do second buying a bigger size and taking the legs up however.

OK - firstly sorry to all those who I upset by posting & my title - I thought that I may find some helpful Mums on here who are busy doing their Christmas shopping but wouldn't mind helping me who is a Mummy and whilst I don't come on Mumsnet every day do try & help with the odd post on this board and a couple of others that I get to look at with the benefit of their experience of other brands so I could buy some trousers for my son. Obviously I misjudged my audience - it happens - there you go .

I am aware that not everyone on Mumsnet is a Mum hence title that upset some of you, what can you do - someone somewhere is upset, miffed whatever you try and do and yes like another poster menyione dim amazed that I haven't been castigated yet about his weight !

I haven taken some legs on bigger sizes up but am not the best sewer plus wanted something he could wear without any pfaff & thought stupidly that some others may have come across more generous sizes make wise - idiot me .

If you can't sew, use wonder web. It's miraculous. I use it to take up all DH's trousers as he has the littlest legs going.

The mum thing - seriously, non-mum's sometimes know useful stuff too like how to use wonderweb

What the Jeff does it matter whether you are a Mummy or not? Or whether those who help you are Mummies or not?

Well I'll try and offer some help...
I have the opposite problem with DS and find the cheaper the shop, the more generous the sizing for some reason. Matalan jeans tend to be massive on DS and Primark can be too although it's more hit and miss.

I've found next bigger fit jeans are good.
