So tomorrow I am off Christmas shopping and as I have done all the obvious easy stuff online all I have left is the tricky. In the hopes of some inspiration, what is the present you have bought for someone else that you think they are absolutely going to love so you're feeling a bit smug about?

Hopefully this also enables some of you to feel a bit pleased with yourselves/really organised. Unlike me!

I got DP a personalised calendar for his desk at home with pictures of us over the last couple of years to match each month e.g. us on holiday in New York last Xmas for the December picture. I know he'll love it, even though it's the most inexpensive thing I've bought for him.

My stepdad travels a lot and he's quite 'particular' about packing etc. He also LOVES Ted Baker. I found some really nice Ted Baker laundry bags. Random gift but I think he'll be really pleased with them!

Good luck with your shopping! Xmas Grin

My toddler is getting a hoover and a cleaning station. He is going to go nuts over it.

Cagliostro · 02/12/2016 01:10

9yo DD, hoodie which has "though she be but little she is fierce" on it :o she's discovered Shakespeare this year so I think she will love it.

7yo DS, Baymax Hatch'n'hero. He LOVES transformers and anything similar, and loves Big Hero 6.

DH, Washington Redskins hat, as he won't be expecting it. Actually I never even considered looking for one, but it came up on Amazon deals and I nabbed it!

lostlalaloopsy · 02/12/2016 05:34

Dd 1 (8) is getting a microscope which I know she'll love.

Ds (4) will be obsessed with his new Imaginext Power Rangers Megazord - it's massive!

And Dd 2 (2) will go mad for the Paw Patrol motorbike ride along we got her. I'm most excited about seeing her wee face when she spies it!!

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 02/12/2016 07:42

DH new aero helmet which is a total surprise. He will also love a personalised keyring from NOTHS because it has all the things me and DS say to him on to tell him we love him then it tells him to hurry home to us.
DS will love his toy wheelbarrow and chainsaw and I think he'll love the stomp rocket.

Haudyerwheesht · 02/12/2016 08:05

Ds (10) ps4 I got massively massively reduced

Dd (6) a silver cross old fashioned pram though this may be because I want it

Dm - a sentimental present

DamsonGinIsMyThing · 02/12/2016 08:12

DP - Star Wars Death Star salt and pepper shakers. He will love it.

ImpYCelyn · 02/12/2016 08:26

Got my brother a shot glass set which is a noughts and crosses game, includes a playing board tray. With a bottle of decent booze, he'll love it.

Got my Dad a really unusual book called 'S'. By Doug Dorst and J J Abrams. It's a book within a book. Supposedly a library book, that two previous readers have annotated and added inserts to. Meant to be good.

The boys will love their presents too. DS2 has a map book and dinosaur pop up encyclopaedia, he'll be over the moon. And construction mad DS1 is getting Knex, Lego and Meccano as I found such ridiculously good offers

missyB1 · 02/12/2016 08:29

Cluedo for all of us - can't wait to play it! Grin

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 02/12/2016 08:34

My DH is really hard to buy for.
I have got him a set of cork shaped LED lights that fit into bottles to covert them to lamps.
This is in reference to an ongoing argument we have about him hording "interesting" bottles around the kitchen and never doing anything with them!

insan1tyscartching · 02/12/2016 12:57

I've bought ds1 a Nintendo mini classic and I know he'll love playing all the games he played as a child again.
I've bought ds2 a cartoon of the history of his football team that I've had framed.
I've bought dd1 a Kate Spade necklace with a seahorse on to match the watch I bought for her birthday (it's out of stock here so ordered from USA)
I've bought ds3 an all singing, all dancing printer which he has been wanting.
Dd2 I'm not sure about tbh I've bought her a fuji instax camera and hope she loves it but she's given no clues this year Hmm maybe she will love the ukelele as well.
I've bought dh the book 1000 album covers and think he will love that as he collects records.

SnugglySnerd · 02/12/2016 13:01

A scooter for DD which she will love.
The holiday cottage we stayed in this year had some older board games that we'd not played before. DH really liked Mastermind so I've bought him his own one.

VanessaBet · 02/12/2016 13:02

I've already given one present which I hoped DS2 would like and he really does - it's an advent calendar with a festive eraser behind each door. He collects novelty rubbers and he's thrilled with it!

myfriendnoel · 02/12/2016 18:35

Got ds2 some knex
They both also have iPad pillows from etsy which I think they will love

playmobilpeacock · 02/12/2016 19:11

DC are still young enough to find most gifts exciting, however DH is a bugger to buy for.

This year I have managed to get him tickets to see Adele at Wembley. He is such a massive fan Hmm and he will be bowled over.

I cannot wait to tell him and my head may explode before Christmas Day Grin

HeyMicky · 02/12/2016 19:13

I bought DM a piece of art. Risky, but I know it will match the planned decor in her new house and the image will definitely make her cry

DH's 5 nieces (2 families, all close in age) all live in the same village. We have bought them all a huge "conflict resolution box" filled with nerf guns as a joint present

MistressMolecules · 02/12/2016 19:31

Mr Maker Shapes for dd2's stocking (she is almost 2). I got them on Amazon, she has a kitchen, train set, keyboard as her main gifts but this stocking filler will likely be the gift that sends her all giddy! She loves the shapes! clicky link to amazon

HerRoyalFattyness · 02/12/2016 19:34

Not Christmas, but as it's only a week before I think it's OK.

For DDs 3rd birthday I have bought her a red pram. It's been under my stairs for ages.
She has now announced that she.would like "that one red pram, and my baby can lie down go sleep" Grin yep, it's the pram I have waiting for her to open. I am feeling very pleased with myself.

Whatdoesaturkeydo · 04/12/2016 10:27

For my brother - Lego mini figures that are the Beatles complete with instruments- he will like playing with them at his desk (he's a 40 year old child)

For my sister a signed copy of her favourite chefs new book (two hours queuing)

For my son a personalised signed book by his favourite author - I work with his brother so decided to be cheeky and ask
