What's the best gift card to go for if I'm spending £10 as a token gift?

I'm buying for two women in their early twenties. I don't know a huge amount about their likes and dislikes and I need to buy them each a £10 gift card. They are both on fairly low wages so I don't want to choose a voucher that they'd have to add lots of their own money to in order to use it, so spa and restaurant vouchers are out.

My first thought was Amazon as they would have a good selection of things to choose from and could easily buy a book, music or DVD for that amount but is that a bit unimaginative?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Amazon is perfect. Second choice for me would be Starbucks but I appreciate some people are ethically averse / think the coffee's crap.

Amazon is good, but you only get free delivery over £20.
Boots or Superdrug might be nice too?

I'd go for a coffee shop voucher, or Boots/M&S.

Definitely Amazon. You can get a book or a DVD for less than a tenner and it's a much more satisfying gift than a coffee.

I would honestly suggest you give them the cash and then they can choose exactly what they want. Personally I never buy anything from Amazon so that sort of voucher is wasted on me.

One4all is pretty hopeless as lots of retailers just don't accept them and you end up trawling round trying to find somewhere that does, and then you get a sales assistant who doesn't know how to process it.

I get a cash (well, cheque actually) gift twice a year from an elderly aunt and I love it, just get myself a lovely little treat with no restrictions.

I recently bought one for our local shopping centre thinking you could only use it there but they said you can use anywhere that accepts MasterCard

Thanks everyone, lots to think about. I'm not allowed to give cash, hence wanting vouchers and the town they live in doesn't have John Lewis or a Starbucks (which is amazing as I thought there was one every half a mile nationwide) so it sounds like Amazon or Love2Shop are the way to go.

Just brought my 11 year olds friend a £15.00! Amazon voucher for a birthday gift. You can buy anything on Amazon and I also found a free delivery Amazon code and wrote it in the card 😀

The only trouble with Amazon vouchers for relatively small amounts is that you will always have to pay postage on top of the price. And for cheaper things that can be a lot, percentage wise.
For young women I would go for Boots/Superdrug/M&S - anyone can find something they'd like in one of those.

I agree that M & S would be a better choice than Amazon, there's always something yummy in the food department if you just want a treat of chocolates or wine. I would find it hard to choose something for £10 from Amazon - I never buy books as I use the library.

Last time I was given a Boots voucher I just stocked up on asprin, toothpaste etc (boring but useful )

Why are you not allowed to give cash? Boots would be good if they're in their 20s and low paid as it could be spent on nice things or essentials. If I was skint I'd like the cash tbh.

Love2shop I've always found to be easily accepted in lots of places. We used to win them at work.
