dd age 2.5 present yes or no?

Any opinions welcome. Have been racking my brains what to get dd 2.5 - her cousin of a similar age is getting a children's tablet - can understand my dsis reasoning for this but don't want to go down that route for dd.

Instead I've been buying lots of craft things (glitter sets, googly eyes, pipe cleaners etc) and was going to put a huge selection in a wicker box with wooden initials of her name on the outside.

A lot of her bigger toys (dolls cot etc) I've managed to buy for different birthdays etc very cheap (wooden dolls cot for a quid for example) so dont feel she really needs a big flashy 'main' present but not sure if the craft box would be a goer.

Any thoughts?

My 2.5 year old daughter is getting a play kitchen. My little pony. Shopping trolley/till/basket/play food.

Craft stuff sounds nice although she might be a bit young for some of it? Mine loves pens, paints, play doh.

Possibly small world stuff like happy land?
If you want a bigger present what about a scooter like the mini micro? We have the smaller handle bar for ours. My dd adores hers and it keeps me fit running after her

Just get her what you think she'll like. So far this year DC's really have been most excited about boxes. So despite coming into quite a bit of money, free boxes are likely to be their main presents this year.

Oh and face paints

You know your DD, and if she likes doing crafty stuff already then go for it. Mine is 2.3 and is a bit too young for some of what you said, but that's partly because I keep a lot of things away from her as they end up being given to/eaten by DD2, 11 mo. I think any little one would love diving into a box and finding different packets of things that interested them, even if they need help using them.

If you want any other ideas I second play doh and duplo (or alternate building bricks) if you haven't got them - DD loves them.

I think my nearly 3 yo DS would quite like it but wouldn't be particularly amazed. We didn't need any big presents here either so I bought him the playmobil rocket for £30 and a wheelbarrow for £20. He will love them and although cheap they'll have a bit of a wow factor I think. Everyone's different though. Your DD may love it

A dressing up box could be good fun, my DD (3 in January) loves all the fancy dress we have been given. You could do a big box with a princess dress or two, but things like oversized glasses, hats, feather boas, masks, your old handbags (a lot you can get from pound shops or charity shops). I also have a 5yo DS so we have a few superhero outfits too which DD enjoys.

We will have a 2.5 year old at Christmas and are mostly getting little bits. Puzzles, playdoh, stickers, books. We might get her a scooter and helmet as a big present. Not sure yet.

I got my twins micro scooters at two and a half.

Dressing up stuff is great too.

Bath toys always went down really well at that age too.

Another poster on here said she was giving her DC a big brown box filled with balloons. I think that is a wonderful idea and wished I'd thought of it when mine were two and half.

DS1 got the ikea kitchen at 2. Has had lots of play over the years.
DS2 is 2 and has a hand me down micro scooter. Loves it.

My DD will be 2.6 at Christmas. She's getting a doll cot and a more interactive doll. She got craft stuff last year for Christmas and we've topped it up when needed over the past year. She still loves using it all, so I don't think yours is too old/young!
I also plan to start putting together a dressing up set for my DD.

We got ds a balance bike at 2.4.
What about Toot toot sets, a play kitchen, workman tools. One of the magnetic drawing boards?

My 2 year old is getting Brio, Peppa Pig Carousel and duplo mainly. She is also getting slippers as she keeps trying to wear mine!

Anything to do with counting, shapes, colours and alphabet as he's quite literally obsessed with them. (So big foam number matting, alphabet jigsaws, some more wooden shape sorters)
Wooden fruit that you can cut up (he likes watching other kids do it on YouTube, so it should go down very well )
And some hot wheels cars for his stocking

I got DD a Fisher Price Little People fairy tree house when she was that age, because she pointed at it in the Argos catalogue! Does your DD like craft stuff?

My DD was 2.6 last Christmas and asked for a hug and some paints. Which she got.

We save big presents for birthdays here but got her puzzles, books etc as well. I don't remember everything she got, TBH!

My DD (2.8) is getting some Peppa playsets (some of it from eBay) and an easel. She'll be happy with that!

Second wooden train set and easel as presents with longevity that they love at 2.

Also musical instruments, books, stickers.

Mine is getting a Thomas and Friends pillow case and duvet cover, a toy car/train/plane that has doors that open and you can put figures in and out of it (not yet purchased, surprisingly hard to find!) and the Thomas and Peppa annuals. I believe her aunt will be buying her a little shop till with buttons she can press, and MIL will likely buy her some god awful pink plastic noisy thing that drives me insane.

For mine I'd prefer something she can do independently. Playmobil 123 is good, DD1 is 3.5 and plays with it all the time. The only glitter based activity we do at home is play dough - I'd rather nursery did the clean up than me!

my once 2.5 yr old is now 25, but that is the christmas that I remember best and will always cherish. She got a doll and pram, a "cassette" player shaped like a large yellow bus with selection of "tapes", and a tea set. We spent all day having a dollies tea party to the never ending tones of "wheels on the bus"! Eventually got her to bed well after 9pm.
