For everyone worried about m&s advent calendar stock Glasgow argyle street and silverburn had HUNDREDS of them today. Staff desperately trying to offload them.

HungryHorace · 12/11/2016 21:38

I should've just got one when I'm back in Glasgow on Tuesday then!

Ilisten2thesoundofdrums · 12/11/2016 21:43

DDs laptop is dying and she is asking for contributions for a new one. I said I would look out for any good deals and buy before Christmas if I saw one.
She wants a NON touch screen laptop rather than chromebook, prefereably with a DVD drive and decent screen at least 14inch.
Budget £200-300 Has anyone got any good ideas or should we look on black friday - or will the january sales be better?

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 12/11/2016 21:49

It didn't work Agnes, but thanks for the tip as I have just ordered two at that price!

MissRainbowBrite · 12/11/2016 21:51

Can't remember who was after a Superdry bargain but there's an outlet at McArthur Glen at Mansfield too.

LittleReindeerwithcloggson · 12/11/2016 21:54

Can anyone recommend a good toy train that goes around the Christmas tree? It's just materialised on DDs Christmas list so she can see it going round on Christmas morning!

Itmustbemyage · 12/11/2016 21:55

Aberdeen M&S has wall to wall advent calendars. Staff desperately trying to coax people to buy them.

PilkoPumpPants · 12/11/2016 22:01

Anyone seen any Paw Patrol toy bargains anywhere?

Theonlyoneiknow · 12/11/2016 22:01

itmustbemyage I saw them too yesterday along with all the desperate staff !

I know I can count on you ladies and your collective brilliant minds for help with this request on my DDs, 5, Santa letter. The only thing she has asked for is "play doh that can be mixed and unmixed". Basically she doesn't like that we always end up with sludgey brown play doh.

Any ideas for how I can make this happen?!

PilkoPumpPants · 12/11/2016 22:28

buzzing I've googled but can't find anythingSad. I suppose you could always try food dye?

Tiggles · 12/11/2016 22:29

buzzing how about along with some new pots of play dough you pu tin a recipe for you to make your own home made dough in different colours so she can always make up new colours in the future. The recipe could even suggest she puts glitter into it to add some Christmas cheer.

Igottastartthinkingbee · 12/11/2016 22:31

Hi everyone! I'm constantly amazed at the commitment to the bargain hunting cause!! You lot are amazing!

Anyway, my bargain but not as bargainous as they should've been if I'd stacked the vouchers night before they stopped working playmobil arrived the other day. All looks good except one item that's obviously been taken out of the packaging and put back again (backwards). Won't look great as a gift for my nephew but maybe I'll take it out and wrap it separately. He's 2 and won't care so it doesn't really matter. Just glad the older kids stuff is ok.

My contribution to the bargains is that Very have discounted all their Little Live Pets stock. I'm going to get a mouse and some birds but does anyone know if they're any good?

buzzing · 12/11/2016 22:32

Making it is an idea. I know she used to do that at nursery. Is it easy to make, and is it as good as the real thing?

Haudyerwheesht · 12/11/2016 22:38

buzzing we use this recipe and it's v easy and Dd loves doing it - you can add glitter, colouring, even smells like cinnamon etc

Gardenbirdy · 12/11/2016 22:39

Not sure if this has been covered already, but BHS is back online and you can use CLOUD15 for 15% off. I got free delivery too, even though my order was less than £20.

Haudyerwheesht · 12/11/2016 22:39

Oops this one

luckiestgirl · 12/11/2016 22:42

buzzing I would just buy three of each colour of play doh, then she can mix it up and when it's brown, open a new pack.

Or I make my own play doh and it comes out great, even better than the real thing because it's more malleable.

Itmustbemyage · 12/11/2016 22:56

HELP!

I know this is a Christmas thread but desperately need birthday gifts for Niece (7) Nephew (9) and Nephew (1).

Nephew (1) will probably be easiest to buy for, but worried about the other two. Older nephew likes football and niece is very girly.

Any suggestions for around £5 each? Have about 2 weeks to buy stuff!

IHeartKingThistle · 12/11/2016 23:03

I always buy 1 year olds a wooden hammer/peg thing, you know the ones where they bash it through the hole then turn it over and do it all over again? Love those.

torthecatlady · 12/11/2016 23:05

I know the ones, he pretty much has everything he needs already from being the youngest child. Is ELC a good place to look?

IHeartKingThistle · 12/11/2016 23:06

The little live pets are all very sweet and do sweet things. They don't hold their interest for very long but ours are out so quite often get picked up. The swimming turtle is lovely.

yumyumpoppycat · 12/11/2016 23:07

Lolly thank you for the headsup about the lego code at smyths!
