I've just signed up to this and been allocated a boy aged 4-7.
My DS is only 2 so I don't know what 4-7 year olds like, any suggestions?

Budget is up to £20 Smile

Lego?

mintthins · 02/11/2016 18:47

And thank you, I hadn't heard of this, and now plan to do it. :-)

PotteringAlong · 02/11/2016 18:50

Lego or avengers stuff here. Or playmobil if you can get it on offer

CheeryPoinsettia · 02/11/2016 18:50

Marvel, mashers, lego, playmobil, superhero stuff etc

Ilovenannyplum · 02/11/2016 18:50

Perfect! I didn't even think of that Smile

This is the link I used, I got an email pretty much straight away with my allocation

Thank you for the met Christmas tree link ilovenannyplum I've put my name down.

Gardencentregroupie · 03/11/2016 10:08

I got a 14 year old boy last year, that was hard work, but I found a Lynx gift set at half price (teenage boys seem to love drowning themselves in that crap) and then topped it up to £20 with Cineworld vouchers, so he could take someone to the cinema with him if he anten or go twice.

Miastar · 03/11/2016 10:54

My dc were into Lego, superheros, playmobil, hot wheels , paw patrol , scooby doo etc.

Maybe some nice character socks, lush bath bomb , board games like game of life, monopoly, cludeo all the junior versions.

This is a great idea, does anyone know of anything similar in Scotland?

Ilovenannyplum · 03/11/2016 12:24

Does anyone know if it has to be one present or if I could do a couple of little smaller ones?

If I bag them together and label with the ref number it should be ok?

I've passed on the link to a few people.
I've been given: 13yo boy, 2yo girl and 7yo girl.

shakemysilliesout · 03/11/2016 14:04

I didn't know about this project but it sounds lovely, just like that movie Paper Angels.

doctorboo · 03/11/2016 14:26

ilovenannyplum I was going to put smaller gifts (for one child) in a single gift bag, if that makes sense?

My 5 year old son loves transformers (the 1 and 2 step figures), superheroes, Hama Beads, paw patrol, spy gear. His 6 year old cousin loves anything science based.

UniversalTruth · 03/11/2016 14:56

This is such a great idea, but the information on the website is a bit rubbish!

Ilovenannyplum · 03/11/2016 15:20

Doctor
I'm going to do the same. I think that perhaps they might prefer 2 or 3 smaller value presents instead of 1 higher value item.
I know that these go to children that don't have much so I can imagine they would be happy to have 2 or 3 gifts that are just theirs and the excitement of getting 3 little parcels

The thought of a little boy reviving these gifts makes me want to cry
although I'm due on so extra emotional today Blush

Receiving not reviving Blush

There will be no revival necessary with anything I buy!

I've been allocated a 14 year old boy. I might have to steal the Lynx and cinema vouchers. Or maybe a Nando's gift card, teenagers love that place!

Ladydepp · 04/11/2016 11:11

Our borough wasn't on the list this year for some reason. I can remember feeling really intimidated last year going into the police station to drop off my gift, but the woman on reception was so lovely when she saw why I was there. This year I've made a donation on the Just Giving page.

I think cinema/Nando's vouchers are a great idea for a teenager.

AdoraBell · 04/11/2016 12:49

Place marking, hadn't heard of this either, thanks for link. I'll be back.

Treadlightly · 04/11/2016 12:53

I've been allocated an 11 year old boy
Does Lego mine craft sound ok?

This is such a great idea!

wheresmyliveship · 04/11/2016 15:52

Thanks for this - I hadn't heard of it at all but signed up.

AdoraBell · 04/11/2016 17:11

Okay, as we no longer live in London I will speak to step son, works for another force, and see if they are doing the same.

Sharkteeth · 04/11/2016 17:23

I've been allocated an 11 year old! Does anyone have any ideas? I spend all my time with much younger children! Thanks Smile

HTKB · 04/11/2016 17:47

17 year old boy here.... I've no idea! Ideas very much welcome!

Cheesecake53 · 04/11/2016 18:36

I was given three boys! A baby and a 7 and a 9 year old. That is such a good project!! Thank you for drawing my attention to it, Iloveanyplum!

Ilovenannyplum · 04/11/2016 18:40
