Christmas bedding - yay or nay?

I am undecided on Christmas bedding. DH thinks tacky & unnecessary but is willing to go along with as he knows how hopelessly excited I get about Christmas.

What do you think.. Jazzy kids christmas duvets, and then maybe a tasteful fairisle for our bed? What do you all have, if any (and where to buy?)

We also have a brushed cotton tartan set. It is a nice navy blue and white which we team with an icy blue fleecy blanket, so I see it as our winter bedding as it is nice and warm and looks lovely in the winter light. It doesn't go on the bed before mid-Dec though.
It is also reversible and has white and blue ticking pattern on the other side.

It's this one www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00A2N3QLU/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1477961058&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=blue+tartan+double+duvet+cover&dpPl=1&dpID=51A24Zy3aKL&ref=plSrch

We have more than one set per bed, we have two for December (so we can wash one) and then one for Christmas eve Blush

Wenchelda - where is the set you got for your own bed from? I love it!

I've just ordered this one on Amazon, I think it's a nice wintery theme, and it'll fit in with my decor.

DS has had a set for a while..it may its 5th use this year..

I am seriously thinking of getting a Christmas one..have bookmarked one from Asda

...And they take up hardly any room, I fold the duvet up into the pillowcase, so its parcel half the pillowcase size

Oldraver · 01/11/2016 13:15

I'm thinking of this one, but will wait until I see some more.

I'm not keen on stags, but I am liking Skandi style

snowplop · 01/11/2016 13:25

I ordered this one today to replace DS1's (he's 10) brushed cotton scandi set bought on ebay 5 years ago. Like others upthread I have yet to find the one for the grown up's bed but secretly hanker after some cheesy Naughty and Nice pillowcases.

No. Christmas PJ's yes but Christmas duvet is a bridge too far

I got a properly traditional red Santa set for DD 2 years ago (in Dunnes Stores in Ireland) which is on her bed most of December. She loves that and actually agrees to use the duvet because of it (rather than just a fleece blanket over her, freezing!!).

We don't do it on our bed, as we have a superking duvet, and they don't seem to make nice ones in that sort of size Xmas Sad. DH would probably go Hmm though if I did come home with something for our room - he puts up with my Christmas obsessions but I do know the limits I must stay within Xmas Grin!!

My 2 teen dc have Christmas duvet sets bought 2 years ago. I couldn't get a set (cheap enough!) for our super king size so compromised with a red tartan throw across the bottom of the bed instead of our usual grey one and swapped our usual 2 blue cushions with red tartan ones. John Lewis have nice Christmas bedding sets for all bed sizes but very pricey!
