My list of shopping has drastically reduced. I still have a few to buy for, and a few other bits I need to get for our own celebrations. But progress is being made. I even managed to wrap the presents DH had to take with him on Saturday!
I have the main bundle of cards with me to post today (near overseas - i.e. Europe rather than further away) and the rest of Ireland. I will keep the Dublin bundle until later in the week. I still need 4 addresses from DMIL and I have to look up 1 for DUncle (but I can get his online).
The tree is standing, but not even fluffed out yet. Just too busy. I must get on with that tonight, after the food shopping arrives and I put that away. And I have a few emails to do for Scouts.
I surprised myself though that I actually achieved quite a lot last week - when I look at my lists both of house, Christmas and work stuff! Quite a few presents bought, things like coffee pods (desperately needed) bought as well, and wine for the cottage, cookies made for school fair, raffle tickets all sold and money handed over on time (school fair and scouts all in the 1 week - DD had done really well on scouts ones with an email to extended family so that meant a hand-aching hour at another leader's house last night!). I found where her new afterschool is moving over the Christmas break. I booked my GP appointment for this week (long fingered for quite a few weeks).
And I am still (mostly) upright after my own section Christmas party Friday, French neighbours annual bash on Saturday (we walked home at 2am - dinner just finished but we didn't stay for singing and dancing as DD needed sleep!), school fair on Sunday, mad busy Cubs meeting Saturday followed by Santa arriving by sea to the sailing club, and sailing races yesterday afternoon.
My "to do" list everywhere is long. But there are no specific work deadlines this week (yet). The house is reasonably under control. I will get the decorations sorted. I have a menu plan for the week (which involves using up freezer stuff a fair amount). I made enough cookie dough that I only need to roll and bake DD's cookies for her afterschool class group on Wednesday. I will try to make a wrapping night for myself. After at least 1 early night for sleep purposes.
I may have missed the "1st December Cruise Departure" date that the Flylady advocates to be ready, but I have had years where it was a lot worse.
I hope all the various bugs have disappeared for people, and that long-term issues and illnesses pop back down into their boxes under the surface too.
