Oh Hairspray how annoying!
If it helps, we don't have a plan yet either because DH refuses to even think about Christmas until after bonfire night Angry... although he did vaguely mention something about wanting a full turkey so I think he's heading to a quiet Christmas at home with visits to my Christmas mad family in the morning

I've just come back from a trip to B&M. Never been in one before but was killing time before an appointment. They had 2 full aisles of Christmas stuff Xmas Grin
I was the only one looking though - but still, I feel all festive now. Going to watch Fred Claus (I haven't seen it before) and crochet he afternoon away Xmas Smile

LaylaTheMiddleAgedWitch · 17/10/2016 12:29

Same here Hairspray. We usually have family staying with us for about a week (4 adults + dog extra!) but as far as I know...it's only hubby, son, myself plus Mum-in-law for now. Brother's in the Forces so not sure where/if family will be visiting us for sure.

Refraining from buying anything remotely Christmas-sy today... I'm working!

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/10/2016 12:58

MrsD this is my Christmas pudding thread if you are still looking for a recipe.

Guitar I have sworn an oath of secrecy about details of the show with Dan-Dan-The-Minecraft-Man but it was very entertaining - more so if you are 8 or 9 like my DS and nephew Grin I also managed to pick up a signed copy of his book for one of DS's presents.

I'm crafting too this afternoon Handbag - working on a couple of bits for the Woollyhugs Christmas craft sale.

Xmas Blush I can't believe I didn't notice we hadn't counted!

Mummyshortlegz · 17/10/2016 13:16

You had bigger Christmas fish to fry!

Guitargirl · 17/10/2016 17:25

Thanks Woolly - I have DD (9) and DS (7). Sigh. Looks like I may be shelling out silly money on Ebay then....Grin

We've decided that as we are heading up to where I work (I have a flat I live in during the week) straight after Christmas that the kids will have a couple of presents waiting for them there as well (I've over-bought, so we will have stuff I can take up without buying more!). It'll make it a bit more exciting for them 😀

Is anybody else done apart from the twitch?!

watchingwaves · 18/10/2016 08:37

Layla - where did you get the musical Christmas pens from?

Thanks

HairsprayBabe · 18/10/2016 09:02

Horace I am doing horribly! we have very limited storage in our house so I dont like to fill it up too early!

Hoping to be done by the end of November at the very very latest! Might persuade DP to do a mini blast this weekend and get the bulk of gifts done!

I did buy some nice wrapping paper from matalan this weekend though!

Mummyshortlegz · 18/10/2016 09:08

I've just got stockings and bottles and some kids presents to get I think.

LaylaTheMiddleAgedWitch · 18/10/2016 09:44

WatchingWaves- I bought the musical pens from Home Bargains along with a giant Christmas pencil.

LaylaTheMiddleAgedWitch · 18/10/2016 09:46

I know it's Halloween.....Branded Spirits are £15 at Morrisons at the moment. Good for stocking up or Christmas presents!🍷

LaylaTheMiddleAgedWitch · 18/10/2016 09:47

BiddyPop · 18/10/2016 17:23

I am just finished my first proper meal since Saturday night dinner (I had proper breakfasts but rubbishy meals otherwise) - cooked a steak on a hot stone with chips and salad, small glass of red wine. Next is the bus to the airport and I plan on finishing the cards I brought on the waiting/flight (bit bumpy on the way over so I only got 15 done, but even that's progress!).

No chance for shopping this trip, except a box of chocolates for Christmas entertaining. But I should have at least 1 more in November!

MrsDilligaf · 18/10/2016 18:31

Ugh....am feeling hideous. Martha is kicking away next to me, DH is at work and I couldn't actually say what's wrong but I feel wobbly headed, knackered and on the verge of throwing up and tears.

Roll on 7.45 when DH is home Sad

Ummmm...POAS, Mrs D?!

I think I've ended up done too soon as the twitch is definitely going to get me! 😂

TheWoollybacksWife · 18/10/2016 19:17

Another vote for POAS sorry MrsD not really I met my newest great-nephew at the weekend. He is scrumptious and tiny and my ancient ovaries are creaking Grin

I'm sorting my shopping trip with my friend for after half term. DD2 is sending me links to all the makeup she'd like so I'm going to the MAC counter as Debenhams and hitting Next, JL and New Look and then hopefully I'll be done. I. DON'T. TWITCH. EVER. December is for cooking, not shopping.

MrsDilligaf · 18/10/2016 20:24

Ha ha... no need to POAS just yet but we are about to commence attempts at baby no 2!! You lor will obviously be the 2nd to know. I figure it's just rude if I don't tell DH first Grin

Martha and I are snuggled up in bed, she's snoring but if she wakes up when I put her in her cot I will put her in the wheelie bin. Last night she sang me songs for 45 minutes through the baby monitor and farted like her father-

Definitely going to do some Christmas craft today. Definitely. Probably.

How old is Martha? My ds2 is 13 months and I am so broody. Dh isn't though. He says no more. We have a 3 year old too.

MrsDilligaf · 19/10/2016 12:12

She's 8 months next week but because we're old gimmers were going to be at it like the clappers for six months or so. If nothing happens then we're very happy being a wee family of three but if we do end up with 2dc then we'll be thrilled.

I bet MrDilligaf is very excited 😉 How non-pc was that?! I know someone who ended up with twins and a 16 month gap using that logic, shock of their lives but a nice one.

BiddyPop · 19/10/2016 14:14

I drank wine on the plane instead and didn't do more cards. I've spent all morning catching up here instead of writing the report of the meetings.

However, I have paperwork for Scouts to do tonight, and for another Committee. Then I am free tomorrow night to do more deep cleaning. Friday night is out to a party, Saturday is a Hike with Cubs (all the leaders are either at the Scout 50th Party, or 1 had a different party - we didn't quite think that one through very well!!), but Sunday is a sorting, decluttering, deep cleaning and then sitting with my knitting day.

And it looks like I will have at least 1 more business trip before last posting dates, so I don't need to worry so much about cards either!

HandbagCrazy · 19/10/2016 15:28

I'm just popping on to say my sister just looked like this ShockHmm at me as popped in unexpectedly and found me under a blanket on the sofa, crocheting a hat (Christmas present for dad) with a Christmas Yankee candle burning and watching Christmas with the Kranks Xmas Grin
In my defence, I am off work sick and had a dizzy spell when cleaning so thought I'd follow Drs orders and rest.

Fingers crossed for your dc2 MrsD!
