Does anyone know? We have loved all the last ones, Stick Man last year was particularly good. Dd asks for it on everyday!

I am hoping for Tiddler or SuperWorm!!

oooh I hope so! I would love the singing mermaid but maybe a bit too scary?

StepfauxWife · 25/08/2016 21:08

I was wondering the same thing! A quick google suggests it is too early. Huge fan of Superworm!

Pigeonpost · 25/08/2016 21:17

My vote is for The Snail and the Whale. Mainly so I never have to read it again. I just cannot get the words out with getting tangled. All the other books are fine, that one I just can't do!!

StubbleTurnips · 25/08/2016 21:23

I'm hoping for Tiddler too!

moonface1978 · 25/08/2016 21:25

Snail and the Whale

Packergator · 25/08/2016 21:25

Definitely Snail and the Whale! It's so lilting and lovely. Read by Cumberbatch.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 25/08/2016 21:57

Ohhhh we would oove what the ladybird heard as an animatiom

MrsMargeSimpson · 25/08/2016 22:03

Probably not, they've been biannual historically unfortunately. Yes, it really has been a long time since the original Gruffalo was animated!

StepfauxWife · 26/08/2016 08:46

Oh I hadn't realised they were biannual!

Anything narrated by Cumberbatch would get my vote. Or James Nesbitt!

lostlalaloopsy · 26/08/2016 09:04

So it's bi annual - boo!! They usually show them all over Christmas so can at least re-watch them!!

We would vote for Zog or Tabby McTat, our firm bedtime favourites currently.

scaredofthecity · 26/08/2016 11:18

Superworm!
Tis by far MY favourite!

Lolly86 · 26/08/2016 11:28

Would love the singing mermaid or what the ladybird bird heard...

MrsMargeSimpson · 26/08/2016 11:30

There's a sequel to Zog out soon!

SideOrderofChip · 26/08/2016 14:29

as far as i am aware, this year it is 'We're going on a bear hunt'

Mallowmarshmallow · 26/08/2016 19:38

Ooh.... A sequel to Zog?!

I've never read Superworm, judging by its popularity I might have to add it to a birthday list.

Has anyone ever found books that compare to a Julia Donaldson? They have just the right balance of a nice, not too long story with plenty to look at and talk about in the pictures and I've never found anything that comes close.

BoaConstrictor · 26/08/2016 19:45

They're not necessarily biannual. Gruffalo's Child followed the year after The Gruffalo. We have them all on our Sky+ box since they were originally shown!

Scaffleen · 26/08/2016 19:55

They're every other year. I thought Biannual meant twice a year?

dylsmimi · 26/08/2016 19:59

mallow have you tried the Sue hendra books? We love those - no bot, supertato, Barry the fish with fingers?

Mallowmarshmallow · 26/08/2016 20:14

No, dylsmimi. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have a look now.

MrsMargeSimpson · 26/08/2016 20:31

The gruffalo's child was 2 years after the Gruffalo. You probably first caught the repeat showing.

Will there be a new Julia Donaldson animation at Christmas?
Essexgirlupnorth · 26/08/2016 20:33

They are available on Amazon instant video

SansaClegane · 26/08/2016 20:55

Having just read 'The Highway Rat' to the DC this evening, I'd vote for that Grin
Seriously I love all her books; you can tell she composes them as songs as they are just so lovely to read. Tabby McTat would be great to see on TV as well - same as Zog, Superworm, Snail & Whale...
We've recorded and kept all of the ones they did so far as the DC adore them, can't wait to find out what it's going to be.

Strawclutching · 27/08/2016 07:26

I hope they repeat them as well. Room on the Broom and Stick Man were my post lunch saviour but they got deleted by accident.

snowgirl1 · 27/08/2016 08:37
