Will there be a new Julia Donaldson animation at Christmas?

Does anyone know? We have loved all the last ones, Stick Man last year was particularly good. Dd asks for it on everyday!

I am hoping for Tiddler or SuperWorm!!

I'm sure I read she said no more being made into films. Hoping she changes her mind. Snail and the Whale please!

The rhyme structure of The Snail and The Whale gets my DH adorably tongue tied, he hates it! It's a brilliant story though.

Yeah boo hiss about no more animations! I can't imagine why she would say that. Children absolutely love them!

snowgirl The Gruffalo and Gruffalo's Child are both on Amazon Prime if you have an account. They're pretty much played on a loop in my house at the moment!

The music from Room on the broom makes me immediately think of Christmas (all warm and tingly inside) I love those done so far, it would be very sad if no more were made especially as they are so well received and there are still so many books to choose from

Not read that one so will have to head down to the library

So I just read online that the next animation will be (drum roll) The Highway Rat, but not until 2017 we've never read that one so it will be going in dc's stockings this Christmas!!

I love Superworm and What the Ladybird Heard.
But my absolute favourite is Paper Dolls, and I think if they ever animated it, I would literally break down!! I've never managed to read it without welling up. The bit with the 'kind old granny' and 'butterfly hairslide' in her memory....

Room on the broom is going round live in theatres, I've just booked to see it in January in Cardiff.

Room on the Broom is fantastic live. Stick Man is on near me (north London) but in October! Too early to begin festive fun even for me.

Thanks for the tip stiddles, I just booked Room on the Broom for April in our local theatre. I would love to see Stickman live!

Just been released that it will be The Highway Rat. Quite like that book so pleased with that.

My favourite was Stickman.

I think they swap it with something for the older kids in between, they are v good also (but not animations). Highway Rat not my favourite but my kids are now too old anyway!
