Evening all!

Like last year, whilst Reastie takes a well deserved break, i am taking up the flag to start a new prequel thread.

Because again finishing the last one is depressing.

So....whose got any bargains?

Girlwiththeyellowhat our Home Bargains had some lovely Dora and friends figures today. All the characters were there, I think they were £2.99 each, they also had a play set to go with them.
They also had the new Finding Dory busy book for £3.99.

SimplyNigella · 23/06/2016 18:13

Thanks for the Smiggle link, I've found some lovely gifts for a July birthday and stashed a couple of bits for Christmas too.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 23/06/2016 22:16

Thanks MissRainbowBrite
Typically I went into b&m today and not home bargains (they're next door) but I'll have a look again soon!

Oreocrumbs · 24/06/2016 19:07

Ooh the ride on barbie and tawny set is reduced from £50 to £30 on Amazon at the minute, I've been tracking it for ages!

A word of warning - DH was apparently inspired by my bargain hunting last year, and has bought DS a bargain present.

It's one of those massive, ride on electric cars. It's a 2-seater DS has just turned 1...

I have no idea what we're going to do with it until he's old enough to actually play with it! But DH is adamant we keep it for him because 'it was a bargain'! If I get my way, it's going to Grandma's for the next 2 years!

SimplyNigella · 25/06/2016 19:56

Oh dear, that's exactly the sort of bargain my husband would pick up. I suppose the phrase "it's only a bargain if you need it" would be wasted?

FireflyGirl · 26/06/2016 16:50

Yup Hmm. He's very pleased with himself. Particularly as it's a Mercedes Benz with Bluetooth speaker. Think someone's living vicariously...

woodwaj · 26/06/2016 18:16

Firefly...I might be interested to know where he got it from....but yes totally not needed Grin

Chocolateteabag · 28/06/2016 06:51

I saw Toot toot deluxe track set in Sainsbo's yesterday down to £6.50 - pretty sure I got it for £9 down from £15 before Christmas last year.

Could be a random store promotion but worth a look if you are considering toot toot for a 1/2 year old as there were a few other bits discounted too

Ernest Jones the jeweller has a massive online sale. Some excellent bargains on chamilia stuff, beads as well as their rings. Beads have some excellent ones and Christmas ones too (dashing reindeer £15 instead of £30 etc) and the rings are £8.50 from £35!!!! Also on increased cash back through quidco at 10% rate.

CathFizz · 28/06/2016 16:31

Ooooh, lovely thread, thanks Side.
I know Aliexpress was big on last year's thread so I thought I might give it a try this time round, does anyone know anything about whether you have to pay any extras like import duty, tax etc, I'm getting a bit confused tbh. Confused
Looks like there's some good stuff on there though at great prices is there a catch?

d270r0 · 28/06/2016 16:43

Book people have a flash sale on at the moment, some good stuff in it but also use the code AFBOOK30 it gives you £5 off a £30 spend. Free delivery as over £25 spent too.

FireflyGirl · 28/06/2016 17:24

It was the Tesco Ebay outlet, woodwaj. I checked for you, but they're out of stock.

ASpiderInThebath · 28/06/2016 17:30

My first time posting on the Christmas thread this year, normally start around September time.. Just a couple of little gifts I noticed today in home bargains that might be of use to somebody, they had furby puzzles for 39p and finding dory busy books for £3.99.

OvO · 28/06/2016 17:55

Cath, I've never had any extra charges when buying from Aliexpress.

But I've never bought £££'s loads of stuff - think £20 was the most I spent in one go. If you buy a lot I'd think there would be more chance of fees at this end.

Everything I've ordered came within the suggested time frame and was good quality.

BaboonBottom · 28/06/2016 17:59

I bought a lot last year from aliexpress, most of it really good and without extra charges.
The one thing that would put me off is the safety aspect, especially stuff for really tinies.

jetSTAR · 28/06/2016 18:18

ooh Oreo my DD has been wanting a Barbie Saddle and Ride too - £30 is a good bargain Smile BUT will it be worth it? I'm a bit fed up of buying my 2 'just what they really wanted' only for it to be unplayed with after a little while Sad

SideOrderofChip · 28/06/2016 19:00

only thing with aliexpress this year i would worry about is the exchange rate but thats about it.

andd be prepared some of it really is tat lol

The Tu clothing sale has just started & includes Transformer fancy dress outfits reduced from £15.00 to £7.50 so I have just bought a couple for the present cupboard.

poorpaws · 28/06/2016 23:19

Radley sale online. 50% off plus an extra 10% automatically take off at checkout (started today). Lovely handbags, purses of all sizes, foldaway shopping bags and lovely key rings.

I spent a fortune, order arrived yesterday (everything delightful) then the exta 10% started today .

LittleReindeerwithcloggson · 28/06/2016 23:25

I payed just under £30 for the barbie saddle n ride horse last Christmas. Quite clever and DD loved it for all of a week! There is a new version coming out in August so the price of the original is quite likely to drop even more IMO

ColeslawSandwich · 29/06/2016 08:15

Thanks poorpaws that's DM all sorted.

CathFizz · 29/06/2016 13:48

Just had an email from Baker Ross, have used in the past for party bag supplies and they've got 50% off some Christmas crafty stuff here, great for stockings Smile
