We normally just have chocolates! But I am planning to do the dinner a bit later at about 4pm ish so want something a bit more substantial. What sort of things do you all have?

I have a great recipe for mini stolen: as recommended on another mn thread; buy them in Lidl Grin they are amazing

Pain au chocolates/croissants.

Ham or smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and toast. I love chocolate but couldn't eat it for breakfast! I'd feel queasy without any proper food inside me until Christmas lunch!

Ambrosia rice pudding, it's a tradition from 14 years ago when dd1 then age 3 thought rice pudding was porridge.

Thanks lightning Grin. Never tried the Lidl ones but I did ban myself from the m&s ones a few years ago after eating a whole packet.

I fancy bagels and cream cheese but my Dad would be disappointed if he couldn't make porridge for all of us after the stockings! Sounds plain but can be topped with syrup/honey/sugar/fruit/anything. And it keeps you warmed up and energetic until a late dinner.

Coffee and doughnuts. It's a nod to the big holiday we had earlier in the year to America. And as our first Christmas since XH left I'm not doing a cooked breakfast. We'll have them when opening the stocking.

Bucks fizz and a tin of belgian chocolate biscuits - been having the same for years so now it is one of our traditions.

For us it's smoked salmon and scrambled egg, with a (small!) glass of prosecco (orange juice in a champers glass for the kids)

We have Florida fruit cocktail - so orange and grapefruit cut up nicely with no pith or anything (bless you Mum, no.1 preparer of fruit) and then we used to have croissants with posh jam but over the last few years we've switched to broiche with posh jam. Along with Buck's Fizz too - natch! Wine

When I was a child we often had grilled grapefruit with brown sugar :)
