Splitting up from husband a week before Christmas, no money for gifts for dd14

My husband and I are separating, I'll be moving out a week before Christmas. Money will be very tight, non existent really.

I have no idea how to make this Christmas special for my daughter ages 14. All her wishes are high tech and expensive. I'm used to buying on eBay and second hand, but don't know where to start. I'll also need a Christmas tree and stuff. It seems impossible Sad

Any suggestions? I'll not have much chance to get to the shops, so mainly shopping online.

I found a small bottle of perfume for £4 in next yesterday which I bought from the joint account Blush It's quite a light scent and I think she'll like it.

Can you do her a book of vouchers? Ie you will pint her nails, run a candle bubble bath, pizza night, movie night with 2 friends over etc. she can give to you throughout the year when she wants to use each one

Remember that she is old enough to understand. And perhaps (if you think your financial situation might improve once you get settled) you could tell her that although Xmas will be 'small' this year, that the two of you could have 'Christmas in July' next year when things are looking up. Perhaps you and she could start saving up for a weekend away to a place she'd enjoy?

Thank you. I like the idea of vouchers, that's great, I'll do that.

I don't really know how well off we'll be later in the year, so I don't want to promise too much at the moment.
