My Dh only has essentials at Xmas, we don't do luxury gifts. This year he has new pants, pjs, slippers and some new boots from Asda!

DaphneGaffney · 15/11/2015 10:33

Oh yes dh will be getting essentials too, I just wanted something different for a present, a surprise as well as the standard boring stuff. I got a great idea for Dd's birthday from here (something I hadn't even heard of) so I thought I'd ask for dh too!

Collieputthekettleon · 15/11/2015 12:42

Aussie Grit by Mark Webber. It's only £6.99 on Amazon & its ideal for any guys into F1 & Motorsport.

No idea on the rest. Men are so tricky!

Collieputthekettleon · 15/11/2015 12:46

We've gone for small inexpensive gifts this year as money is tight:

Sons of anarchy tshirt
PJ's
Personalised coaster (to have at work)
Christmas socks

OwlAtEase · 15/11/2015 12:54

A Chemex glass coffeemaker
Turbo smartphone charger
Whisky
Cards Against Humanity expansion packs
Stocking with socks, chocolates, etc

RJnomaaaaaargh · 15/11/2015 12:55

Xbox one
New boxing gloves (might be a bit of a niche gift Grin)

FlysInDreams · 15/11/2015 12:55

I'm just getting bits and pieces. So far a washing bag (I've gone completely blank on whether that's the right word, the sort you put toothbrush etc in on holiday?), a Lego book light and I'm thinking of getting a calendar for work with pictures of our twins. Dunno what else at the moment.

Iwantakitchen · 15/11/2015 12:58

This backpack. He doesn't use a briefcase for work and is currently using a ten-year old backpack from sports direct. So update to thus one: www.johnlewis.com/herschel-supply-co-pop-quiz-backpack-black-tan-synthetic-leather/p2116175

RJnomaaaaaargh · 15/11/2015 12:58

Oops sorry
Blizzard subscription - it's a football mag I think he will like
Aftershave and Milton brown smelliest
Pants and socks - boring but needed
Kraken rum
A Clinique shave set - I get him one every year and it lasts most of the year
iTunes voucher, some DVDs and some sweets

He's ruined, I know

SomedayMyPrinceWillCome · 15/11/2015 13:07

A Saracens Rugby shirt

JoanGalt · 15/11/2015 13:19

So far I've got:
leather gardening gloves
mini plant snippers
a key hiding thingy for the garden
a book about gin
loads of socks
some toiletries from L'Occitane
bits and pieces for his stocking

I've yet to get:
Aftershave
Yellow glasses that block blue light Hmm
Adele's new album

He has also asked for a few handmade things like body scrub and a bag.

Seems like a lot but it's his birthday in December so I'll spread the gifts between both days.

eckythumpenallthat · 15/11/2015 13:25

Me and DH have said no presents and getting a small TV/DVD player for our bedroom in the January sales. Romantic eh?! Lol we are doing a stocking to each other with a £25 limit. Ive seen (and yet to get) a bottle of beer but has gin in it, a fleece balaclava for when he's on his motorbike, some christmas pudding chocolate, a bowie cd, terminator DVD, jd Ballard book

TelephoneIgnoringMachine · 15/11/2015 13:31

2 ties from the Jaeger outlet - they have a flash sale on.
DVD boxset - complete set of Men Behaving Badly
Killer sudoku book
Whisky
PJ trousers - he likes the cartoon ones you can get from Asda for about £10.
I might get some socks
2 bottles of coffee syrup plus pumps - we like the Sweetbird brand the best.

It's quite a lot now I look at it, but I'm giving some for Christmas & some for birthday which is just a few days later. I will probably see some other things as well. Must resist.

TelephoneIgnoringMachine · 15/11/2015 13:32

Oh yes, beer too. He likes his Real Ale.

didireallysaythat · 15/11/2015 13:39

A wheelbarrow. I won't wrap it. I think that's enough !

MelanieCheeks · 15/11/2015 13:44

Big Bang Theory lego set.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/11/2015 14:20

So far:
a coat (in the sale)
a jumper
socks
pants
collapsible water bottle

I'll be getting him a couple of books/CDs/DVDs and I might get him a new rucksack and some jeans.

He buys himself nothing at all in the year, so the clothes are pretty much essentials!

His stocking will have beer, mustard, pickles, brandy, chocolate and some running bits (gels, little flashing lights etc) in it.
