Best Mice Pies (shop bought)

I need about 60 mince pies for the OAP club I help run. I know I could make them but I am doing lunch for 60+ and want an easy ride.

I thought the likes of Aldi and Lidl got good reviews last year. Has anyone had them this year. Cost is a factor. We need value for money so we may be able to afford sherry and port.

Have you tried contacting local supermarkets and asking for donations or discount if you buy from them?

I always buy my mice pies from Feline & Daughters Butcher. Need to stick with a professional when it comes to pastry a la rodent.

I'm not a fan, but my colleagues were raving about the Co-Op's last year.

Definitely worth asking for a deal in return for "bigging up" the store to more than 60 local customers.

Sainsburys bakery short crust ones are the best shop bought ones imo and I've had them all.

Mouth watering here lol last year the specially selected from Aldis were a huge hit

Lidls Mice pies are lovely, nice crust, good filling and no hint of whiskers!

Or contact your local morrisons. Ours donated 250 free to an event a friend of mine was organising for some elderly people in our area. They have a charity budget for local groups

My brothers just come home from a long stay in Australia and bought some mince pies in aldi and said they were amazing!

I like the Morrisons ones from their bakery.

The Coop have a fund for helping others with community projects of any size. Worth approaching the manager to see if they want to make any donations..our local one always help out with oap parties etc

The Heston at Waitrose ones.

I'm not a traditional mi(n)ce pie can but those ones are like crack. Seriously good.

The Heston ones are amazing but they may be too pricy for the op budget BC its for 60 peeps,however Waitrose are very generous to our local charities and they may help out ...worth inquiring ?

You're right suky. I skim read and didn't see that cost was a factor.

Also I have a feeling that the older generation, purists they can be, might not love the Heston ones. I know my Dad didn't rate them.

I think they're heavenly. Warmed up with a blob of cream and a sprinkle of the mandarin infused sugar they come with.
