Best Mice Pies (shop bought)

I need about 60 mince pies for the OAP club I help run. I know I could make them but I am doing lunch for 60+ and want an easy ride.

I thought the likes of Aldi and Lidl got good reviews last year. Has anyone had them this year. Cost is a factor. We need value for money so we may be able to afford sherry and port.

Certainly I'd ask your local supermarkets for donations- our local Lunch Club had all its food donated.

I love the idea of Mice pies!

I second howtorebuild, the sainsburys bakerybones that look like frosted Eccles cakes are the best I've ever eaten. They are so tasty. I am sure supermarkets would donate or discount for good cause.

Tesco donates to this sort of thing if you have one near you. You just need to address a letter to the community champion at your local store. Get in quick though because the funds get eaten up very quickly by local schools.

No idea what their mince pies are like though sorry

Kipling's pack of 6 mice pies are on offer at £1 each (down from £1.50) at Tesco's at the moment.

But I'm not a mince pie connoisseur at all.

I like Greggs best, but, again, could be over budget. Though your local store might cut you a deal for buying so many.

(Fun fact! My mum puts in a telephone order to Greggs for mince pies and sausage rolls every Christmas. Until I was 22 I believed that she baked these festive treats herself from scratch. I only found out the truth when I was sent to collect the order!)

"Sainsburys bakery short crust ones are the best shop bought ones imo"

Second this!
