charliecat · 01/12/2006 22:11

I recieved 2 parcels from Mrs Claus today for my two dds. With a handmade card They are the first pressies under the tree and dds are super excited about them. My heart is warmer and lighter than it has been in months. Thank You Mrs Claus.

LadyOfThePoinsettias · 01/12/2006 22:27

ooh, ooh! I got a parcel yesterday, with MN marked in the top corner! It was wrapped very nicely in brown paper and the presents inside were all nicely wrapped and beautifully presented inside, nestled amongst pretty tissue paper with a card on top.
It was so lovely the care that S & R had gone to. I don't know how old 'S' is, lol, but 'R' is 20months.
I have opened the larger present, as instructed in the card and my 'S' wore the fleece today thank you very much! The smaller present will go under the tree.
Thanks so much to our secret Mrs Santa. Ds' little face lit up when we opened the fleece, he really enjoyed the suprise.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 01/12/2006 23:14

sockmonkey · 01/12/2006 23:29

My DH just wanted to send everyone a message:-

"I would just like to take a few minutes to say a great big heartfelt thankyou to all you great people on mumsnet!

I guess if you have ever been in the situation where you are out of work, especially coming up to christmas, then you know how bad it feels that you might not be able to give your children a happy time.

Those of you who have sent something along to us have really touched me. I almost want to cry when there is knock on the door and a parcel is delivered, because with each kind gift I feel that we can give the children a great time come Christmas morning, and thus in return making us very happy too.

sockmonkey · 01/12/2006 23:29

second part of the message, as it wouldn't all go through in one:-

"Every day you turn on the TV or you can pick up a newspaper and it is full of sad, depressing news of war, murder and other likewise nasty events. It is sometimes hard to think that there is any good left in this world.

However you are all the greatest and I wanted to let you know that I really do appreciate your kindness this season. Not only has this made me feel better inside, but has inspired me to be a better person myself and I hope that I will be able to help someone in the same way someday in the near future.

A thankyou to Soapbox for taking the time to organise this and I am sure that all the 'needy mums' (and families) appreciate the work that you do too.

Regards

Jim (Sockmonkey's other half)"

ToMyWonderfulSender · 02/12/2006 00:01

Ooops....put my thank you message on the wrong thread last night.

A HUGE Thank You from Z, M & myself for the fabulous box of gifts that arrived for us.
I have so far resisted the temptation to peek under the cellotape at the list of contents so it will be a surprise for me aswell !!!

Also thank you to another MN who sent a parcel of gifts for Z - wrapped in Bart Simpson Paper.
I have put them away safely until we put the tree up. (always wait until after Z birthday on 6/12 to put the tree up).

Didn't see any clues in either parcel, so I have no idea who you are but bigs hugs from the boys and myself to you and your families.

May your Christmas be wrapped in happiness..........and tied with love.

Lots of tears in the monster house this morning. Postie knocked with our post (no letter box) and there was not one not even 2 but 3 MN things

Huge thank you to my 'christmas mumsnetter' for sending cash (!) and money off vouchers, KIMI and DC's for the wrapped gifts for the DS's,including a list, and to AQ for the vouchers, and reindeer food for my DS's...am off to look at LCC now [wink}

I am overwhelmed at the kindness and generosity, not just from my givers, but by MNetters as a whole. I am very touched and have a wibbly lip at the moment. I would dearly like to at least send a card to say thank you.

So, if you sent to SC with DS's J and O please email me x

Many thanks to my Santa who sent me some lovely stuff for the kids (and me) and some Boots vouchers. I know who you are, so I will email you in a minute.

I've also received some other parcels with presents for me and the kids. I was sure I knew who they were from but the postcode has confused me. Thanks again. I really appreciate it.

theposterformerlyknownasMammyM · 02/12/2006 11:21

C... and more importantly Rachel - I recieved your parcel this morning - Bronwyn and Emrys will be soooo pleased. I am looking forward to when they are old enough to understand the story of when "strangers" from the internet gave them the most magical Christmas possible.

Any santas for MumOfMonsters - Can I also thank you from the bottom of my heart? I desperately wanted this amazing woman to have a special christmas, but couldn't do it for her myself You are all lovely.

xmasmummy · 02/12/2006 12:13

carnation · 02/12/2006 12:19

It is much harder to be on the receiving end of giving, but I am. It is really lovely how people have took the meaning of christmas to the purpose it is intended. There are far more people out there who are in greater need than I will ever be in, but it is nice that someone has thought about me. Many thanks to those I hope you got as much pleasure sending them as I did to receive them and the kids. My gift to you is my thoughts will be with you and your families that you will also experience some kindness over the christmas period.

completelyoverwhelmed · 02/12/2006 13:32

thank you so much to the lovely mumsnetter with the initials k g who sent a parcel containing little girls things.all beautifully wrapped and even a little gift for me
I have just emailed you..thank you so much

ShinyHappyStarOfBethlehem · 02/12/2006 13:47

O M GOODNESS

The postman just delivery an ENORMOUS package by recordered delivery..

In it was the following.. A crayola set, A (beautiful) dragon book (course on 'Dragonology'), a Harry Potter book, a pink note book, a blue note book, a beautiful set of wooden coloured building blocks, a miniature note pad and pencil, a recorder, a (wonderful, intriguing) design set, a Bionicle, a set of hair clips, a £10 book token , £20 in cash! and a little box of truffle chocolates for me!

This was sent to us by "Mumsnetter Emma, and her children Frances, Molly and Eva"

I can't begin to thank you. There is so much for all three children that I can put in their sacks. I just can't find the right words to thank you.. these words aren't enough! And if I may I am going to give a couple of the items suitable for DD to her on her 8th birthday which is on the 12th.

I feel the need to express again, that when I got involved with this 'appeal' I honestly thought it would be about passing on good quality second hand or new unused items to each other and/or buying a small toy to send on, which I was happy to participate in as I knew I had something to send.. I never dreamed I would be getting parcels such as this!! I am in tears. I can't believe someone has done this for us.

I don't know who you are Emma, and I respect you anonymity but I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart.. and DH's heart.. and those of our three children who will so happy and exicited with they get these gifts on Christmas day. I won't tell the youngest ones that they came from a Mumsnetter because they will be from Father Christmas.. but they already know about this appeal and from when we sent our items last weekend..and I will explain to DS1 (who is 14) which of items came from you.

Thank you so so much! [sob]
