MumsnetSanta

Thank you so much for the gift for dd that arrived yesterday morning.

I really wasn't expecting anything and found the parcel on the step when I opened the door.

I haven't peeked but dd was very interested in the jazzy paper and had a good crinkly feel!

Having one the same age I bet you know she's going to be more interested in the wrapping than the gift at first!

You're right, they're absolutely fabulous at this age.

I am so grateful and all because of MN I got the tree down on Friday so there is a place for all the lovely things we have received.

Once again, thank you to MrsB, Jayenrea and ArtyJoe too.

DH has been astounded and I think it has really helped him feel less stressed about Christmas. He is coming to visit tomorrow and we are very excited about seeing him.

santascomingforyou · 11/12/2006 07:16

no worries, just didn't want it to go astray what with it being xmas pressies/xmas time and all {fsmile] please excuse the box - you will understand once you see it! and also ahem, I think I may have put my DH's grandads pressie inside as well ahem norty me! lol. if I have it's a bottle of brute - nothing special pass it over to someoen who you think might like it as MIL has got us another one to give to her dad.

Paddlechick666 · 11/12/2006 07:30

Raggydoll - The teddy has been played almost constantly since it arrived. Watching liitle S dance with it makes me laugh so much. It's great!

eenysugarplumfairy · 11/12/2006 09:42

Hello!

Imagine my surprise when the postwoman knocked on my door and gave me a package and an envelope, both from people I dont know in RL. I was stunned!!

Someone nominated me for the christmas giving because I have had a rough year and dont have loads of cash (!) This year I have had a TERRIBLE pregnancy, a prem baby who has been sick off and on, had to stop working at 8 weeks pregnant due to being ill so finances were hit hard. Then to top it all off, right before Christmas, our car died and we had to take out a loan to pay almost £500 worth of repairs.

I just have to say, I am so so so touched. I cried when I opened my MN gifts - (I didnt open my sons wrapped presents, I am saving those for Christmas day though its taking all my willpower)

The vouchers I recieved will be spent on things my son needs, like more clothes and toys as I havent got the extra cash myself they are MUCH appreciated.

I would love to hear from my givers so I can tell you personally how very grateful I am - my address is senatorvass at gmail dot com. One of you has Lily (4) and Charlie (6 months) and also your name begins with an N and ends with an A and you thoughtfully included a Dorothy Perkins voucher which I will use for a little treat for myself. Please email me so I can send you a little picture of my baby who you have so thoughtfully helped out this year. I am truly touched and wish I could give you a big huge hug!!!!!! There are tears in my eyes as I write this! Phew. OK.

It took me 2 days to write this as I was so stunned and overjoyed words werent coming very easily. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

cremolaturkeywishbone · 11/12/2006 10:06

Dearest lovely mumsnet givers- i have been away from the computer all week as ahve been doing overtime in a mad hectic kind of way , trying to make this a good christmas for dd.
recieving not one but two surprise presents for dd during the week has been beyond wonderful.I have been in tears at least twice. Your generosity is beyond words. the gifts are so thoughtful and so appropriate- i know she will be over the moon.
Receiveing such kindness has been heartbreaking.
I would like to tell my story here but cannot as i would like to remain annonymous.
(We have had 6 years of bad luck- numerous bereavments and illnesses)Life has become unstuck and very frayed around the edges.Mumsnet has seen me throught many a dark day.And now this- which is so wonderful.
thank you so much- i hope you know who you are!
All our love and warmest wishes for 2007.
B&A xxxx

Another call to anyone who gave to Christa with Bronwyn and Emrys to please email flamesparrow at gmail dot com (create an ubersecret email address if necessary) - I'd like to be able to show you your generosity in action!

fussymummy · 11/12/2006 10:27

I'm getting worried as i posted a parcel last week for someone with 4 children.
Haven't heard if she's received them yet!!!!!
Please anyone who receives, let us know that our gifts have arrived.
Thanks.

yeahinamanger · 11/12/2006 10:36

I also sent to a Lady with 4 children 3 girls and a boy - I can't see anything yet to confirm she has received and would love to know that it has arrived safely - otherwise the Post Office is going to get my size 5's up it's backside !!

CranberryJelley · 11/12/2006 10:59

mummydoc - your parcel arrived safely this morning

Thankyou, and your daughter for the love and care that went into it.
I hope you don't mind if I re-label a couple of the presents. My grandmother has sent a cheque for the girls, so I would like to give some of the presents from her, and spend the money on nice Christmas food.

Clary · 11/12/2006 11:08

Yes I sent a parcel last Monday morning - should have taken 5 days - to someone with 2 boys, 6ys and 8mo.

Not after big thank-you (it was only a few things compared to the generosity I see on this thread) but just to know it got there safely.

Didn't put my MN name but I have DS1, DD and DS2.

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 11/12/2006 11:48

thankyou to hannahs mum who sent me £20 mothercare vouchers!! that will enable for me to buy him one of those sit and ride toys that progress with them from when they can sit up and use it as a rocker and with a parent handle to when they are toddlers and doing it themselves. they were £50 and couldn't really afford it, but now i can! thanks so much.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Your parcel arrived today and I just had to say thank you soooooo much!!!! MrMiaou's face when I lifted out the porcini and the truffle oil was a sight to behold! He sends his heartfelt thanks and wants you to know he is planning a fantastic stuffing to go with the duck on Christmas day and is drooling at the thought already . Me, I'm looking forward to eating the biscuits

And thank you so much for the gifts for the kids - haven't peeked but the paper is lovely! And - some fabulous debbie bliss wool in lemon yellow for me to knit something nice for the new baby - wonderful!! I have nearly finished the cardigan I am making for my friend's baby and was quite sad at the thought that I wouldn't have any more lovely wool to knit with - so your gift was just perfect!!!!!

Thank you again - all your presents have been chosen with such care

Dear Emma P from Crawley, with one ds

thank you for your Santa gifts, I cannot wait for the boys to tear the paper off and see what is inside. I have had to hide them away so i don't get tempted to poke the paper - I'm not known for my patience.Thank you so much for going to this effort for my family at such a busy time of year!

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 11/12/2006 15:38

Just now got a minute to write this, been busy all day!!

I'd like to send a MASSIVE thank you to the 4 (yes 4!!!!) mnetters who sent us parcels this morning!

I really can't believe the trouble, care and thought gone into making these parcels to send to my 2 boys J and C!! They will be absolutely delighted when they open them on the 25th!!

I also recieved a lot of popcorn with some fab things inside from a secret santa! thank you so much for this!!

Also a big thank you to C with little T(16 mths), thank you so much for the games, treats, vouchers and lovely card, that was so kind of you!

And another great big thank you to J with 2 boys S and H , similiar ages to mine, your very kind gifts are beautifully wrapped and your generosity is really appreciated!

Also (I'm getting tearful now...!) a big thank you to R, I and O (again almost the same age as my 2) for your generosity and thoughtfulness!

I wanted to list eveything that we received as I'm amazed at it all, but instead can I just say how teary and happy you've all made me and I know my boys will be over the moon with their wonderful surprises!

thank you
so very much, a very grateful ssd x x x
