1000 replies

soapbox · 24/11/2006 19:27

I thought I had better start a new thread in case the old one falls over at 1000 posts.

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to all those who have helped make this a huge success Thanks to all of you, life will be a little bit easier for some of our MNetters this year!

Firstly all of the MNetters - without you this would only have been a pipe dream! Givers and receivers - all take a bow

Then the corporates:
GLTC - for going well beyond the call of duty
Hazell -www.verko.co.uk- for her most generous offer of christmas trees - I hope you join in and make some new friends here
Great expectations - a lovely company with wonderful fairtraded toys and again help beyond what was expected.
LCC - to Jaysmummy for her crafty goodies and warm hearted support
www.thesweetiestop.co.uk - for their generous support

And of course it goes almost without saying, MNHQ!

**

How it works:

You email me:

[email protected]

as a giver or receiver. If a receiver I will ask for a bit more information to find a good match for you. If a giver I will find someone for you to send your gift to.

All matches to be done by 30 November (did I really promise that)

All gifts to be posted by 15 December (at the latest).

OP posts:

mrssantaclaus maybe that should be mrssoapysantaclaus!!!!! so as not to confuse too many people!!!!

this thred gets a bit long and not everyone will realise just who you are.

Thelistmaker · 27/11/2006 01:12

No - I think I rather like my down to earth title

elliepmummy · 27/11/2006 05:56

got my match thanks soapy (the listmaker!!) decided I am going to get something for each of the 3 children and a little something for mum. At work today so if I get very organised I can box it up there and work can kindly pay the postage for me can't wait to do this now even DH who hates MN has been asking about this thread. Right since DD been up since 5.30 going to have a shower and start getting ready for work.

Thanks again soapy/listmaker for doing this think we'll all have a warm glow on xmas morning thinking about the other families x

MiaousOtherSanta · 27/11/2006 06:36

could you CAT me, do you think? I'd like to co-ordinate a bit, if you don't mind.

(I can't CAT, I am too useless and have never got my head round it)

If you can't CAT for some reason then post and I'll set up an unidentifiable hotmail address.

Miaousothersanta, just typed you a long message but I can't CAT you, it says you can't be found, presumably because it's a temporary login. I'll try via Soapy.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 27/11/2006 08:17

Have CAT you SpookyMadMummy - thank you x

hulababy · 27/11/2006 08:26

I have my match. Going to look into all this today.

MrsMills · 27/11/2006 08:30

Did someone earlier mention a website where you can buy and send vouchers from? Could someone tell me what it is and if it's o.k.?

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 27/11/2006 08:32

Mrs Mills - I LOVE YOU! (biscuits are YUM YUM YUM and I am being SO good in not scoffing the lot!)

MrsMills · 27/11/2006 08:42

Ah, sooooo glad you got them!

I thought about sending the mixture you can buy, you just roll it out, get your biscuit cutter out and bake them in the oven, but didn't think it would travel too well.

The ones you ahve are justa as nice though.

SisterOfSoapbox · 27/11/2006 08:42

MrsMills...I think the link to the vouchers site is on the previous thread (if you're willing to scroll through the 1000 posts hahaha!) If not someone might post it again for you on here. Someone recommended it so I guess its ok.

satinshoes · 27/11/2006 08:44

vouvher site

satinshoes · 27/11/2006 08:45

ok, so i cant spell, but i bookmarked the site the other day....

MrsMills · 27/11/2006 08:46

thanks!

jollyhollymum · 27/11/2006 08:47

I still need to know if it's OK to put little extras in my parcel now I know who I'm buying for. Come on, I need to go shopping!!AND do we wrap them or not because if I send a parcel, hopefully the children won't see what's in it before they're meant to IYKWIM.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 27/11/2006 08:48

JHMum - I think whatever you send will be appreciated. I dont think there is anything wrong with adding extras.
I think the general gist is dont wrap but send wrapping paper! HTH x
