Does anyone know if Magnatiles ever go on sale? Have been watching out for them since last Christmas but no luck yet!

StrumpersPlunkett · 14/08/2015 09:32

Keeping an eye out for bargains for 12 year old boys if anyone bumps into anything ????

PamelaEwing · 14/08/2015 09:49

Some good half price offers at Hobbycraft including paint your own ceramic dinosaur, gnome or penguin - great rainy day activities or party prizes. Also saw a large tub of generic Hama style beads down to £5 as well as a BOGOF on Play Doh 4 pack.

EaglesNest · 14/08/2015 09:52

You have to pay for click and collect at Hobby craft which is the thin end of the wedge.

BicycleGasoline · 14/08/2015 09:53

I'm also keeping an eye out for magnatiles, keep hearing how amazing they all are but they're a bit on the pricey side for a "maybe"

milkmilklemonade12 · 14/08/2015 10:02

Yobo yes I'm hoping for that, they're about £1 per tile Shock

PamelaEwing · 14/08/2015 10:04

Eaglesnest yes sorry, you do have to pay to click and collect under £10 which I forgot about as I always get carried away and seem to have a full virtual basket when shopping at Hobbycraft!! Grin

On another note, I was disappointed to see John Lewis now charging £2 to click and collect for a spend under £30

EaglesNest · 14/08/2015 10:33

With all these places now charging for click and collect it makes me wonder if Amazon prime might be a worthwhile purchase after all.

Is it better to pay out a lot at once (where you can get almost everything in the world) then keep paying small bits out here and there?

I only want the paint your own moneyboxes for £1.50 from Hobby craft and they become less of a bargain once I pay to click and collect.

BooChunky · 14/08/2015 11:00

We have Amazon prime and it's been so worth it, the amount we buy from there throughout the year more than covers the cost, and the TV service is a great bonus too... I like it better than now TV or Netflix actually.

HawkEyeTheNoo · 14/08/2015 11:20

Fantastic!!! My first year here so looking forward to saving some pennies!

EaglesNest · 14/08/2015 11:21

Dh will want to get rid of netflix if we get amazon prime.

And I'm addicted to Friday Night Lights so that can't happen Shock

LondonBetti · 14/08/2015 11:46

Another vote for Amazon Prime - spent ages debating it and just wished I'd gone ahead earlier. I also find their customer service much better now! Also you can share it across family members.

Kraggle · 14/08/2015 12:10

I've never heard of magnatiles, just had a look on Amazon and they look amazing! Very very expensive though!

milkmilklemonade12 · 14/08/2015 12:14

Yes very expensive for what they are!! Because they're magnets as well I don't think I'd buy second hand. They're about comparable with the price of Lego I'd say. So you can buy enough Lego to build you a house for £40, or enough to do the same with magnatiles.

Reastie · 14/08/2015 12:41

Yobo we have a mag lite and it's good, but we also have a policeman said torch from Amazon which is AMAZING. It's very small with incredible power and we like it more than the mag lite. We liked it so much we got one for fil and my dad for Christmas a couple of years ago Grin. I'll just look it up now.

Reastie · 14/08/2015 12:44

Ok, looked on Amazon and can't actually be sure which one is the one we have... But I'm sure it was recommended via this thread so maybe someone knows to link? They really are amazing and more powerful at less than half the size of a mag lite and cheaper.

SideOrderofChips · 14/08/2015 12:48

Amazon prime has been well worth it to me

Reastie, day drinking is bad for you - step away from the sherry! Xmas Grin

Magna tiles not maglite!

Though I was confused by what magnatiles were so have just googled and they look brilliant. I need some for me.

Thanks for the thread Chips and Reastie.

CookieMonstersAngryTwin · 14/08/2015 13:04

I'm so confused right now Hmm

OvO · 14/08/2015 13:08

Christmas Craft Kit from Argos. Down to £5. I keep typing Christmas into the Argos search bar as I can't wait for all the Christmas tat. Xmas Grin

Sockmatcher · 14/08/2015 13:11

Oooh hello. I'm behind this year. Nice to find you all.

milkmilklemonade12 · 14/08/2015 13:12

There are some good YouTube videos for magnatiles and I love how quickly you can make them into something. I'm getting DS a small box for his birthday in October and I'll see how he goes.

For anyone wondering, these are Magnatiles.

But if we want a sale, essentially we're fucked

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 14/08/2015 13:19

Ooh! Christmas shopping time! Can I join you? It's my first time hosting and there will be 11 of us including 2 wee ones. I want it to be amazing!!

Reastie · 14/08/2015 13:19

my secret day drinking habit is out Blush . I'll just go and hide in the corner! I have no idea what magnatiles are...

Reastie · 14/08/2015 13:20

Just saw milks link to magnatiles. They look amazing but I'd rather a mag lite Wink
