Zulily is worth a look and has new stock every day. use this link to earn me some credit for referrals thanks My tip if you’re buying something big with hefty delivery fee is so buy something cheap and small from their site first then you get free delivery for the rest of the day so then go back and buy bulky order.

SideOrderofChips · 11/08/2015 22:11

Checking in Grin I am sooo behind on last year!!

Reignbeau · 12/08/2015 12:36

I was in WH Smith earlier and they had all their stompeez on offer at £4.99, can't find it on the website so it must be an instore offer only but it might be worth while going in if you were thinking about getting them.

BrucieTheShark · 12/08/2015 13:09

Harking back to finger lights - job lot here

My DD invented a light sabre last night by taking the ends off two lights the same colour and sticking them in either end of a straw. Looks surprisingly cool!

guzzlewump · 12/08/2015 13:51

Smyths have got a toy sale on. They've got the Skylanders Swap Force starter sets for £10 each - a couple of christmas's ago they were about £70 and have been about £30 until recently. They've also got the characters reduced.

Ds2 (7) loves skylanders trap team which was the one from last year and is already asking for the new version for next Christmas. However as we have a wii I think it's too old and they're not doing a version for it Sad so will have to go retro instead. Fact it's a bargain is a bonus Grin

Smyths also had some reasonably sized Kreo 'Lego' sets reduced from £13 to £3 - might be useful if you need filler presents on the cheap.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 12/08/2015 14:06

Right that's it I'm taking this as the sign to start shopping for Christmas. I was really organised last year but left all the wrapping too late and so this year I bought a load of wrapping paper in the sales and I'm wrapping as I go. I'm determined to enjoy December this year.

guzzlewump · 12/08/2015 16:22

Current bargain rather than a christmas one but could be useful if people are looking for cheap cinema tickets between now and mid October!

Groupon have got an offer on Odeon Cinema tickets - £10 for 2 or £20 for 5. From what I can work out, you can use the tickets individually. Max of '10 tickets per guest' which I assume means that you can buy 10 tickets and/or that they don't want you to use them for a party of 20 people but no doubt they'll tell you if you try to do something wrong!

snowgirl1 · 12/08/2015 21:04

Could anyone recommend where I could buy an Elsa Coronation Dress? DD has just announced she'd like one and I'd prefer to order one on recommendation. She'd like the gloves too - so any suggestions on Elsa gloves (for a 4 year old) would be great too!

urbanturban · 12/08/2015 21:10

Yay it's officially Christmas shopping time! ????

scampbeast · 13/08/2015 00:20

The amazon links just seem to open up this thread in another window for me. Am I doing something wrong?

BicycleMadeForTwo · 13/08/2015 05:04

Same problem with the Amazon links here. Some work and some redirect to the Mumsnet page.

I'm almost finished Christmas shopping but there's always room for more bargains. Smile

issynoho · 13/08/2015 10:19

Showgirl I've just bought an Elsa coronation dress from Shenzhen Excellent Trading Co on Aliexpress. Was about £8, quality is nice, cotton and velvet, as good as a supermarket costume once I've ironed it. But watch the sizing - go by cm not age. I got the biggest age 7 140 for my tall slim Dd and it will just fit her for her 5th bday soon. I looked again and can't see a bigger one anywhere.

No idea where she got the idea to ask for the coronation dress though!

issynoho · 13/08/2015 10:20

Oh and her gloves were just the plain cheapy set with tiara, etc. Might get her the gold tiara too.

SideOrderofChips · 13/08/2015 11:05

We're having teething problems with this thread unfortunatly because im a bit blonde

It will be fixed when Reastie takes over!

issynoho thanks - I'll have a look at Shenzhen Excellent Trading Co and thanks for the guidance on sizing.

Re. the gloves/tiarar - did you also get them from Shenzhen or from a supermarket?

AnOddOod · 13/08/2015 11:44

Anyone seen a decent Cinderella dress?
