May I ask those of you who were talking about Magna Tiles, how much you'd spend on a clear 48 bit set unopened? my DS won it but would rather spend his money on antique cameras Hmm but given that it is 60 quid on amazon Shock I think I could do with a sensible ballpark and try it on a local facebook page rather than let him sell it at a car boot for a fiver, given the low prices toys go for I fear I am going to seem mad...

and thanks for the movie clapperboard, first present ordered! xx

ColeslawSandwich · 16/08/2015 20:46

30623 that's a brilliant idea, I'm going to set up a similar wish list now. Thanks.

cookiefiend · 16/08/2015 20:47

Liked ipswiches popcorn maker, but postage a bit extreme. Found it here for £4.75 including first class post

popcorn

Reastie · 16/08/2015 20:58

Hard, yes, the snowman loo rolls, I had forgotten all about those! I have at least 20 in the loft Wink

Excellent cheap popcorn maker finds. I'm off to home bargains tomorrow and shall live in hope there will be one there for half the price, if not, I'll get that one. Pound land is also in my trip so will get some popcorn tubs. Ohhh, I just remembered I night a movie clapperboard. That will go perfectly with is movie bundle. Now, what DVDs would a 13 year old want Hmm

GerrardWinstanley · 16/08/2015 21:04

Hardtoknow Thanks for the tip off on the blankets. Just looked up the The Dumelm teddy bear blankets and the childrens ones are on offer at under a fiver. I've nabbed a couple for the DCs. Looks like they are only available through click and collect though.

For those of you who love a onesie the adult sized one in the same material is reduce to £3.74! Probably only worth it if you can click and collect though as delivery would double the price

SideOrderofChips · 16/08/2015 21:05

I can vouch for the Von sheff one being excellant :D

what a great thread - have been buying bits for DCs birthday and to put away for christmas, thank you for the link to aliexpress - I have bought various frozen bits and bobs, hope they all arrive - 2x disney animator frozen dolls (usd 10 each (£7?) as opposed £25 in the shops) plus Heelies - back in vogue I believe and much coveted in our house - about £20 as opposed £35 on amazon. Also some magformers (like magnatiles) $27 (£17).

GerrardWinstanley · 16/08/2015 21:09

Lego play book only £3 at Amazon

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 16/08/2015 21:12

YaMasYaDaWithAWigOn · 16/08/2015 21:41

Thanks Fanny Flowers

PamelaEwing · 16/08/2015 21:48

Lego Chima watch £8.99 at Zavvi and free UK delivery

EaglesNest · 16/08/2015 22:29

Tempted by those animator dolls but is anyone else worried about the type of plastic used and if it is safe?

Wasn't there a scare last year with the frozen dolls?

CookieMonstersAngryTwin · 16/08/2015 22:40

Eagles yes, think it should have a certain mark to tell its safe but can't remember which, its a stamp I think. Also the snap bracelets from abroad damaged a little girls face, wish I could unsee those pictures poor thing. I personally wouldn't chance it but know a lot do Thanks

306235388 · 16/08/2015 22:41

Yes tbh I worry about the safety of toys like the cheap frozen dolls. Plastic could be dodgy, they are unlikely to be fire tested and could break easily I think which could be dangerous but also disappointing.

That said, I haven't any experience to go by so I might be being over cautious

OvO · 16/08/2015 22:57

My fuzzy felt advent calendar arrived this morning. Only bought it yesterday!

It looks fab. Wish I'd bought more for my nephews.

Sorrry I'm too lazy to check back who posted the link for it, but thank you! Xmas Grin. I loved fuzzy felts as a child so I'm actually going to keep it for me. Xmas Blush. My DC would spoil it and put things in the wrong places. It's mine all mine!

FannyFanakapan · 17/08/2015 07:43

I hadn't looked at the types of plastic in the toys, but my LO is beyond the age of sticking things in her mouth. I'll have a look at them when they arrive and report back.

PipersOrange · 17/08/2015 08:23

This looks like for younger children but the works have 10 books for £10 here

TobleroneBoo · 17/08/2015 09:55

There are quite a few stocking fillers on Hawkins Bazaar for £2 and under. Delivery is only £2.50. There is a bit of tat there but other bits that could be of use

YaMasYaDaWithAWigOn · 17/08/2015 10:46

I'd bought one of the Elsa soft dolls (like a teddy) from Ali Express and it came with all the tags on it as if it came from the Disney Store. The only difference was one of the feet were a bit wonky which makes me think it might have been factory seconds (still good quality just not perfect enough to sell instore)

Buddykringleberry · 17/08/2015 12:14

I'm trying to be controlled this year as I went mad on bargains last year and spent most of Xmas day worrying about where I was going to store my 4 kids newly aquired purchases.

I had brain surgery last week to remove a large tumour so have definitely reassessed my priorities since becoming unwell out of the blue 6 weeks ago. I've also had to surrender my drivers lisence which means I won't be twitching for in store bargains as I won't be able to get to them this year.

As I've been preoccupied lately I've only just made my first purchase. I got my twins an oral-b electric toothbrush from Superdrug reduced to £17.45 from £35ish. They have a built in timer and made teeth washing a much easier chore for my older boys. Perfect stocking fillers, bargain and useful!
