havent put my lights up at the window yet! dont want the whole world knowing im a christmas nut! hehe

We put ours up when the children break up from school. That's a big cocession for me - before children it used to be Christmas Eve.
I LOVE Christmas but HATE all the crappy hype for weeks beforehand. Especially the pressure it puts on low income families.

It's NOVEMBER. Christmas is AT THE END OF DECEMBER!

I just don't get it. Ours will go up around 8/9th December and that is only because we actually go away for Xmas on 20th - otherwise I would put up later.

we usually do it early december... but with 14mth dd we are waiting a bit this year, as she is being very inquisitive and distructive at the moment!

dh is putting our outside ones up tonight!!wont be switching them on though,hes putting them up now because he'll be away for the next couple of weeks and then he'll be saying he cant be arsed to hang out of the window to do it!!

i saw 3 houses on the way over to anglesey on saturday that were fully lit up outside and trees in the wondow!!

there's a house round the corner where they keep theirs up ALL YEAR. that's paper chains, lights, tree, the works.

you want to watch out or you'll end up like some kind of christmas miss havisham.

Our next door neighbour has his outdoor lights up and switched them on on sunday night. He always does it around now.

I usually put mine up on 13th as Dd's birthday is 12th.

yull be pissed off with them by 14th december and will have taken them down. expecially after your ds has stripped the tree of everything he can reach and somethings he shouldnt have been able to reacg

mine go up on the 2nd dec my neighbour puts his up on the 1st of dec and i dont ever want to be the first one in the cul de sac so i do mine the day after

we live in a cul de sac aswell,and theres always neighbourly rivallry!!see who gets them up first!!

dh wants to switch ours on on 1st dec,but last year one of our neighbours had hers up on the 9th nov as it was her ds's birthday the same day!

i dont like being the first, so i let him go first and then rush round in the loft the day later

I put mine up as late as possible and take them down as early as possible. BAH HUMBUG

I never put any decorations up until the solstice. I never have since leaving home 13 years ago. EVERY year my mum asks "Have you put your decorations up yet?/When are you putting your decorations up?" - After the solstice mum like every year!!! [tut emoticon]
