Ive already got him an mp3 player but i want to find something he will sit and play with. He has enough k'nex/lego.
He likes pokemon and not into the normal star wars/harry potter type chracters.
Any ideas?

depends on your budget really.
most of ds's friends all haave psp's xbox's etc. so aa game for one of them would be my first suggestion.

Is he into board games tortoise. You can get allsorts of board games now. They are all the old games but made from the likes of the Simpsons
My Ds1 wants the Simpsons Monopoly game. Thing is hes only 6, (7 after xmas) and hes the oldest, so only him and me can really play it.

tortoisestrappedtoarocket · 02/11/2006 20:29

We have masses of board games and a few on the ds's lists to get!

My brother used to love warhammer. There little model characters that you paint and stuff, you can collect them and spend hours playing with them. If you have enough room eventually when he's collected enough you could help him make a board for them. My brother had a big board on a table in the garage that he painted grass on and made papermashay hills on and stuff. Good for imagination and gets him away from the computer. hth

here

tortoisestrappedtoarocket · 02/11/2006 21:06

Thanks but i don't think he would be interested in those. He's a fussy thing!

What about a skate board or something?
Would he play with a fort or something? Its hard to say really my ds is only 13months old so I dont really have an idea of what boys are into at that age. Ill carry on thinking..........

Hi there - I also have a 9 yr old ds and I know just what you mean! He longs for a playstation or x-box but we are holding out until he is 10 (aren't we mean!).

Today I have been to Boots and bought a few gadgets that were 3 for 2 - they have quite a few in store that aren't in the catalogue.

I have also ordered some Terry Deary books from Red House (Terribly True Stories). He spotted them himself.

Any other suggestions would be welcome .....
