Brace yourselves and form an orderly queue.

XMas clock.com says 357 (plus 14 hours)

Happy New Year to one and all. Hope 2015 is a good one Smile

thanks Grin

I had to get the Star in before it vanishes (any idea what the star emoticon is for? )

It's like Barney's Christmas Star ( how many times was I made to watch that when DC were little)

Great tree 70s!!

I am starting to get my head slightly in gear again. I am not going to Brussels for work (4 year relocation - failed the interview) nor am I being promoted (also failed the interview) so I am settling in to the new role I got internally (sideways) 6 months ago and now have an idea what I am at here, so I can start to give headspace to family stuff again, including Christmas!!

First job, after the overnight hike with Cubs this weekend, is to review the budget/master giftlist spreadsheet. Then make up my crafting list - I might actually manage a decent amount of HM gifts this year with less pressure at work Xmas Grin

And DH is away on Wednesday next (Paris, so home that night but near midnight) so I may actually get to enjoy some Christmas music or even a movie on Rudy Day!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/03/2015 19:55

Aww Sad about the job Biddy ( I remember you posting about the preparation for the interview)

278 now.

I found 2 £2 coins in my DS pocket when I was doing laundry. Little g*t knows that all £2 coins are property of moi for the £2 jar.
He deliberately spends them [hoikes]

I've told him he won't get a share when we cash it .
Might spend it all on Yankee Candles .

Happy Rudolph Day Xmas Grin

9 months to go........................................

Today, for Rudy day fun, I will be working on DD's Easter Bonnet for school on Friday. I have already helped her draw and paint easter egg shapes in the cereal box card last night, and I bought a few bits in the Euroshop this morning (big chick, 3 baskets with 2 chicks and a hatching egg in each, 5 bunnies on sticks, and 5 more bunnies not on sticks). All will be hot-glued onto the green cowboy hat (cheap St Patrick's Day yoke from 2 years ago) we bought for the last proper Easter Bonnet we made (previous decs fell off between that Parade day and over the following month).

Admittedly, any of those items that DD does not want to use (quite possibly all!!) will be used in my own Easter display that I will set up at the weekend. I have to go and get some nice branches in the garden, and hang my collection of eggs from them. Some are delicate shop ones (pottery and glass) bought over the past decade, some are lovely ones that various au pairs have made at home with DD, and I have bought a kit in Austria this spring to do a few with DD ourselves as no APs anymore.

I am off out now for a walk in spring sunshine, and potentially a little shopping. I may even get to do some planning tonight as DH is away until late, and I will be sitting while DD does her sports training.

BiddyPop · 25/03/2015 13:16

Thanks 70s, I am not terribly upset by it as the other 6 going for it as well were all strong candidates. (And there will be another post next year in the same place but on different issues that I may be in a better position to target!!!).

nickdrakeslovechild · 26/03/2015 21:16

273 We have been doing lots of Easter things this week, the Easter tree is finished as is the easter bonnet for the parade at the weekend.

262 ...... Must start shopping! ????

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/04/2015 20:16

I was in BHS today, they had a corner of sale items - including Sherpa backed fleece blankets (very nice but I will wait for the Primark festive ones to come out) and Christmas Cards Xmas Shock
DD was "It's Easter Monday" Hoiky Judgey Pant Pearl Clutching. (I would've bought the blankets if they'd been patterned) Blush

I have €54 in €2 coins in my special pot BlushGrin wonder how much I'll have by December!

Just putting my Easter decs away, including my Bambi wreath [fingers crossed for uploaded photo] feeling a bit sad. I had just put away the autumn/wintery bits and three Halloween decs still lurking so now the house looks a bit bare. Maybe I could try and sneak in just one small inflatable reindeer.... on the balcony?

Happy day 262 everyone.

nickdrakeslovechild · 07/04/2015 22:24

261 Yep just put our easter decs away today too. Does anyone know where the Christmas shops are? I know there is one in Bath. Maybe we can do a map of them, so we can pop into when we need our "fix" Xmas Grin
