BiddyPop · 03/06/2015 09:38

I need to start checking before I post - I keep opening this as one of multiple threads to check in the mornings, and then post without refreshing. Blush

My poor sprouts are going to be quite raw - as they are still only at green leaf stage in the garden.....I'll have to hope that the ones I put in the pressure cooker next week will be done that bit better Grin

Can I join I'm a MASSIVE christma-holic!! And even better ill be starting my maternity leave around 15th Dec so I plan on being ruddy festive this year! X

BiddyPop · 03/06/2015 10:15

Mrs Chatty - now is the time for the planning, purchasing and preparations!! I started mat leave on 9th December (a few years ago now), spent the 2 weeks dashing like a loon on Christmas as work had been frantic (the rest of the office flew off to Hong Kong for 8 days to a major conference the same day I left - so had left the office the day before) - and had no time for magic or relaxation. Then DD arrived over Christmas Night (6am on Boxing Day morning to be precise).

Actually - I am supposed to be checking flights and hotels for London for a December weekend. Has anyone any good suggestions? We will be a party of 3. DD will be almost 10, so a Santa visit is not mandatory but could be good (we don't tend to do "in store grottos" - more like Green Santa in a Heritage House, or the Santa (steam) Train trip), not too much shopping but I want to get to Oxford Street (for a short time so the crowds aren't too much for DD - ASD), some nice food, some magical feelings, decent hotel that doesn't cost the earth but is well located (or a nice apartment), and potentially considering a day in HPW.

And I'm in the throes of arranging a Sex and the City hen party for 4 weeks time.

My poor brain is melted.....

mrschatty · 03/06/2015 10:55

Happy Birthday 70s Cake

I'm still working through what I need to do for family wedding next week, including cooking, wrapping presents, packing clothes for various events (in different bags - we have to stay in a hotel, but changing for the event in MILs so need "THE OUTFIT" in a separate bag, including full makeup kit...).

My brain hurts trying to work it all out.

TWo hUNDRED Xmas Grin

DH and I went to London yesterday , we walked round all day (DH pedomoeter measured *13 miles^ , no wonder my joints are aching today)

That's when I think "Ohh this'll be lovely at Christmas" - the homeware at Selfridges, M&S foodhall, Libertys, John Lewis.

Then I have a word with myself because it's Hell on Earth . Too many grumpy rude people, shops too hot, carrying too much , trying to find somewhere to eat , a toilet.
Do it all online and go to the shops to gawp, works better for me. Smile

I need to catch up on life. DH is organizing a cleaning company though, so I know the house will be really clean and I won't need to be so ruthless on the HGP this year as normal years recently. (We've had that company before and they are thorough). Well, assuming they don't want another mortgage to do a regular clean when they see the house again...

Actually biddy that's a fab idea. I have a cleaner already, but maybe a per Christmas ruthless blitz just before I get back from Disneyland so in Xmas eve the house is sparkling. Mmmmmmm
