DT opened mountains of presents yesterday and then started playing with them

so toys everywhere - all paper and packaging in the bin

we went out in the morning and came home late last night

the mess of stuff everywhere is messing with me liking to keep the living room tidy

do I go downstairs and make them tidy it all away into their bedroom or let them have one more day of chaos?

Have another day of chaos! Enjoy watching them play while you start to clear the paper and packaging etc.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 26/12/2014 07:59

Oops, sorry, you've already cleared the paper and packaging. I'd still let them play. It' still Christmas. Grin

GlitzAndGigglesx · 26/12/2014 08:01

We cleared the paper after everything was opened but my living room floor looks like a bomb erupted. I'm leaving it a mess until tonight

Eminybob · 26/12/2014 08:04

I managed the living room yesterday so it should be respectable. The kitchen on the other hand....

superbagpuss · 26/12/2014 08:07

at a minimum I'm thinking sort the washing and kitchen out
dressing up stuff in dressing up box
new posters on walls

some things moved to bedroom
clothes put away

My living room is not rtoo bad, but every pot and pan has been used and left to fester overnight, I haven't even made a cup of tea because I can't face to go in there

BearFeet · 26/12/2014 08:09

Kitchen is ok but living room a big mess. I'll probably leave everything in the living room for another few days even though I hate the mess.
It's only messy with toys though and it'll keep the kids busy so I can sit and drink coffee Grin

MicronesiaIsMyHome · 26/12/2014 08:10

I did the kitchen and left the lounge. Today I will attempt to move the rubbish for the recycling bins.

sebsmummy1 · 26/12/2014 08:10

I chucked DP and son upstairs last night while I scrubbed the kitchen, relaid the table for my Mum visiting today, tidied up toys and hoovered the floors. Precisely because I couldn't bare to wake up this morning and deal with it all.

I feel for you Wink

CiderwithBuda · 26/12/2014 08:13

Feeling too fragile to attempt anythng! Kitchen not bad but need to sort recycling before I can do anything.

Chottie · 26/12/2014 08:21

Just sort out the kitchen and clear the wrapping paper away too, leave the toys out. It is Christmas Xmas Smile

PullMySocksUp · 26/12/2014 08:22

We did it last night as I can't bear to wake up with more stuff to do. Scrubbed the kitchen and washed the floor this morning. Going to get a wash on in a minute ~ only because we only brought a limited amount of clothes with us.

superbagpuss · 26/12/2014 09:05

OK, I can now see the living room floor Grin.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one whose house is a tip. My children got so many presents from family. We can hardly move downstairs.

Sparklingbrook · 26/12/2014 09:14

I want to put it all away. It's making me all antsy. I need it all out of the living room and I would really like to take the tree down.

I will just stay in bed I think.....

superbagpuss · 26/12/2014 09:17

sparkling I'm glad I'm not the only one eying up the tree

Sparklingbrook · 26/12/2014 09:20

Grin It's looking a bit wonky and forlorn super. All the chocolates off it eaten and no presents underneath. And Sparklingcat has stripped the baubles from the lower branches......

May09Bump · 26/12/2014 09:23

The bloody dishwasher broke on Christmas Eve, and we have been working through the pans etc. Timing was brilliant as if the shops had been open we would have bought a load of disposable stuff! So haven't even looked at the living room.

ohtheholidays · 26/12/2014 09:30

Myself and DH have to bag up the wrapping paper and throw away boxes as our children unwrap as there's 5 of them.If we didn't we'd all be lost in a sea of wrapping paper Xmas Grin

DH and 3 of the 5DC carried all the bits the children didn't want straight away upstairs.

I woke up to the kitchen looking like a bomb had gone of in it this morning, luckily I managed to get it all cleaned and sorted before the children and DH came downstairs.

Sparklingbrook · 26/12/2014 09:36

If the tip was open today I would be at it. Grin

Only1scoop · 26/12/2014 09:40

Can't stand it ....I need to start 'filing Playmobil' in correct containers....

Elfina · 26/12/2014 09:41

The kitchen...oh god...THE KITCHEN!

mortil2 · 26/12/2014 09:42

Yes, I would like the tree down as well. But more importantly I would like my Mil to go back

afreshstartplease · 26/12/2014 09:44

It's getting to me too I have started to tackle it. Couldn't fit all the packaging in the bin so have piles of that also. I'm thinking of bin bagging it and leaving in garden

Dropdeadfred2 · 26/12/2014 09:44

I cleaned and tidied as the present unwrapping went on..all paper and packaging gone straight away....I can't sit down and enjoy the after moo. if kitchen is messy so washed up as I cooked..then kitchen was gleaming twenty minutes after lunch Smile Smile
