Every year I swear I won't get more than we need and every ruddy year I still end up with a fridge that would require serious ingenuity to get anything more into it. Sad

If something leaks during the night there's going to be a crisis.

I only have a tiny fridge and I had to empty it and clean and deodorise it this evening, as I have some delicious smoked sausage in there from the local Polish deli (so good), but everything - cream, butter, etc. - was taking on Eau De Sausage, and I wanted to chill some desserts in there for tomorrow.

Greengardenpixie, sounds like Thisisthelasttime has special plans for the turkey baster Grin

Varya · 26/12/2014 12:39

Made Delia's truffle torte for pudding on Christmas Day, very rich but very good. My family prefers carrot cake with white icing and the dex rather than Christmas cake!

Greengardenpixie · 26/12/2014 15:00

oh...the gold old turkey baster..ha..ha.....!!!

Bartlebee · 26/12/2014 15:09

Our massive fridge is full to bursting. Drinks are in the garage and the turkey is in the utility room )with heating off.

I feel so relieved we're always away for Christmas! I'm sure when they're older my kids will start seeing that everyone else's fridges have much more in than ours and begin to pester my husband and me for more snack type food. The longer they are oblivious, the better!!

Thisisthelasttime · 27/12/2014 18:23

Haha only catching up on thread now. Never drinking and typing again. Turkey was very tasty and well basted ! Fridge still a bit full with loads of half eaten stuff , may clean it out tomorrow.

I try to take most of MIL's Christmas Fridge with us when we go home, as I know she won't cope with it. At least it's cold enough where she is to leave most of it (wrapped well) out in the garden! After that, I quite like the challenge of using everything up: it can take you away from all the normal things into a whole new territory.
