I am almost four months pregnant and this time have really bad morning sickness to the extent that I am passing out. Just to up the ante I seem to have a really bad cold/ flu and so have started throwing up my own snot! The room is spinning and I constantly have the sweats.

I am feeling so unwell that I am losing track of the days and am not sure how many days we have until Christmas. I do know that we have about 100 guests for a Christmas Eve party, about 20 for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

WE have no presents which is not the end of the world but I have not bought the food or drink never mind started preparing it.

I am sure everything will be fine, but home is hard enough at the moment so I can't share how stressed I am. So inbetween sneezing, shivering and vomiting I am smiling and telling everyone that it will be OK .

I am so annoyed with myself for getting stressed over Christmas, I never get stressed about Christmas.

Philoslothy... firstly you say "It is a party so I only need canapés, sweet things and drinks - not a formal meal. It is at home, the house is decorated ready. The gifts for the party are all done and the children are making sure they are all wrapped. I am worried about how I am going to host, I am back in bed shivering at the moment."

THEN you say.. "It is bring hosted in our home but not by me! I am currently propped up in bed next door. I may pop in but strictly as a guest."

Which is it?

YonicSleighdriver · 23/12/2014 20:42

Princess, i think the plan changed when Phil realised she was too ill to host.

ThePrincessWhoSatOnTheSprout · 23/12/2014 20:46

Indeed, but surely with this many guests (and huge apologies if I'm wrong) you'd have been organising this event MONTHS ago... before pregnant even...just seems a bit weird to me. That's all. Perhaps I'm too organised!

YonicSleighdriver · 23/12/2014 20:55

Well, you can't make/buy some things until the day before, surely?

Philoslothy · 23/12/2014 21:11

The planning was done some time ago but things need putting together, setting out etc. I had a team ready to help but I would normally be leading. I would would also be hosting, so greeting people, organising games for children, overseeing waiting staff etc. Someone else will do that for me. I do not want to miss the whole thing so will probably pop in but as a guest.

OK... you also said this...

I can't write but I can dictate lists into my iPhone and get one of the children to write it up and DH to check for things I have missed. The children are cleaning, DH is reading cookery books!

but you are managing to type just fine... Huge apologies once again if I am missing something.

ImNoClownIWontBackDown · 23/12/2014 21:20

This is a joke, yes?

PausingFlatly · 23/12/2014 21:21

Ahahaha! Nice one, Princess! You're the thread's token pretend troll-hunter!

Not a very good effort, but have a mince pie anyway.

pressone · 23/12/2014 21:22

Philoslothy - I think you should be carried in to the party on a chaise longue and wafted from guest to guest to do a little hostessing then carried out again, all on the chaise longue, and hopefully by a gang of half dressed centurions - like Cleopatra or the Queen of Sheba.

Philoslothy · 23/12/2014 21:35

I think there is a difference between typing some random panic induced shite onto an iPhone in the dark whilst sat in bed and making detailed lists for a party.

You are right this year we are not as organised as we should be because my son has just gone out of hospital following a number of suicide attempts. We are just trying to keep the show on the road, mabe foolishly so .

But you carry in troll hunting under your name change, it is not as if I am a real person with feelings. I said the other day that I was too vulnerable to be on here and should dereg.

Thankyou to the posters who offered advice and made me realise that I was being in the nicest possible way foolish and needed to step back.

Rest well, Phil, and hope you can make a little bit of the party.

pressone · 23/12/2014 22:33

Think the sprout went up Princess's arse and that is why she is so miserable.

Enlli · 23/12/2014 22:35

Poor You. I would cancel if it were me. Your pregnant, morning sickness and have the flu (you should be in bed) so no one would/should expect you to carry on. Its just not possible with flu. Go to bed!!

louisejxxx · 23/12/2014 22:41

There's lots of Christmas Grumps on here tonight!

Hope you feel better soon OP x

Philoslothy · 24/12/2014 00:00

Thankyou ladies. I am starting to feel better, my temperature is down and I have kept some soup down. I have also slept a lot during the day.

I was probably not making much sense last night as I was stressing not just about tomorrow but the whole Christmas period as we have guests until after new year. However everyone is chipping in and we now have food for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

I wanted to wish you all the best for your big event. Ignore the miseries.

Philoslothy · 24/12/2014 11:27

Thankyou. I am still in bed and being looked after. The children popped over this morning to see me which was nice.
