They give me the rage.

And you can't ignore them, or you keep getting reminders that you haven't watched it.

We are getting more each year. Send an e mail Christmas message by all means, but PLEASE don't torture me with electronic classical music and robins.

When it was one a year it was bearable, just. The first one ever (about 5 years ago) had labradors larking about and seemed, well, charming somehow.

Now I swear like a sailor when one appears in my inbox, about 3 times a day at this time of year.

I got one from my mum and dad signed their actual names (not mum and dad)Xmas Hmm They obviously just added our email onto the generic list lazy fuckers

I know! We found out because DH's auntie sends them, and actually phoned up to ask why we hadn't opened it . . . DH - hopefully convincingly - flanneled about our elderly Mac which couldn't cope with such things Grin

I feel it's a cruel and unusual punishment to be stalked through the festive season by electronic stationary that reports back to the sender.

We've been sent the Advent calendar before. The sender definitely knows if you haven't opened it. (Much harassment from DH's aunt).

Oh God I hate these. MIL keeps sending them for the children and so I have to report back on whether they liked it etc. I know I am a miserable ungrateful fucker but ugh.

Well I have had 2 more (from the same people!) since yesterday. I think they must be free to send or something - we have had at least four from them since the start of December.

I am thinking of blocking my address from Jacquie Lawson and then telling my ILs (all coming from that side of the family) that my Mac can't cope or somesuch, as Takver's DH did.

I have a standard 'thank you and Merry Christmas' reply I cut and paste and send to all JL senders. I then think, job done :) Now I'm thinking the sender gets an email from me to say thank you and a JL email to say I haven't read it! Does this make me sound PA?

Agree. My mother always sends me these. I live abroad now, so fair enough, but even when I was in the UK she sent them. It's a bit lazy I think.

And I hate the way you are pressured into sending a thank you reply back again, which just leaves the sender waiting for your thank you. It's very controlling and then causes all sorts of angst when you don't!

One year my mother even gave me a JL account with credit on it for my birthday. Confused

I have never used it.

Well meaning relative sent DS one for his birthday this year. He had no interest in watching it. I had no interest in watching it. I know he'll get another next year. Bor-ing!

I think they seem to appeal to the elderly. My 80 year old mother thinks they are marvellous, in fact I think she actually pays for a subscription. I haven't had one from her this year and I wonder whether that's because she knows I never read them.

I hate these. I thought they were good in 1999 or whenever it was she started but now I just delete them. I didn't realise the sender found out. Such a waste of time.
