Jackie bloody Lawson cards

They give me the rage.

And you can't ignore them, or you keep getting reminders that you haven't watched it.

We are getting more each year. Send an e mail Christmas message by all means, but PLEASE don't torture me with electronic classical music and robins.

I hate them mother sends them to me I even got one when I got engaged this year after a week of telling them the news I now just use it as a tick on Christmas bingo

I hate them too and the senders DOES get notified if you don't open it. Whoever has git several from the same source, they may be reminders. Absolutely gives me the rage

I've never received a card but in laws send the advent calendar each year. My almost 5 year old absolutely LOVES it, and revisits previously opened pages as well as completing various puzzles on it.

He loves his chocolate advent calendar too, but gets more excited about the Jackie Lawson one online.

We can't wait to delete it because it makes the computer crash! But will wait until the big day because it really does something for DS

Hello it’s me again. I just received my first JL card of the season, which led me to remember that the sender knows that you haven’t opened it, and sends them a notification and you a reminder.

So I dutifully watched a bloody robin twittering about with a wreath and some fairy lights, and carol singers and all manner of twee festive shite while getting increasingly annoyed.

That led me to type ‘I hate Jackie Lawson cards’ into a search, which led me here. To a thread I started 9 years ago about the same thing 🤪😂😂

So I am back, again saying - down with this sort of thing!

@GoldfishSpy Haha so this popped up on TIO 9 years later. Surprised to hear they are still on the go. Sadly my mother is no longer with us, she used to send them at every opportunity.

Definitely fewer these days, but still the rage builds within me with every bloody bauble and bow it compels me to click on!

Trouble is, it states clearly that all devices can cope with the buggy crap so they'll know it's as true as saying you can't meet up for Christmas because you have not got a car (but live within walking distance).

Just popped up on my TIO too. I'd completely forgotten about them, haven't had one since 2016 when I got divorced from ex-H not just to escape the ILs, honest

Today I got a reminder about one I hadn’t opened from a few days ago. And the reminder email said you can unsubscribe from JL cards.

ha! My MIL has stopped sending these and thankfully I just get one a year from a cousin.

I've just received a Jacquie bloody Lawson Easter ecard from a colleague. I rage-Googled and here I am! I don't know anyone under 70 who sends them, so I'm hoping they'll become extinct eventually...
