I've found ds (5) a dinosaur game off eBay. It's second hand but is boxed and looks brand new, it isn't available in the shops anymore.
Anyway it's like an interactive game where the dinosaurs go on top of the pad thing and it tells you facts and you can play a quiz etc. ds is going to absolutely adore it. I can't wait to give it to him!

What gift are you looking forward most to giving?

Dd is going to love the Elsa and Anna dresses from her brothers, and ds1 will be very excited about the ninja Turtles stuff from us and his brother and sister. Ds2 will be 9 months and probably most excited about the wrapping paper!

NotEnoughTime · 23/11/2014 11:21

For my DS2 (age 7) I have bought him a night at the Natural History Museum (Dinosnores) which I know he will LOVE. It is also my DH's Christmas present (as my son needs an adult to accompany him) but I'm not so sure my DH will LOVE it Grin

For my older boy (age 13) I have bought a "Looking after Meerkats Day" at Whipsnade Zoo which I know he will LOVE too as he is really into Meerkats.

Can't wait to see their faces Smile

Let's hope they put as much thought into my Christmas pressie #doubtful

BornToFolk · 23/11/2014 11:28

I've got DS personalised Match Attax cards. They arrived yesterday and I was so tempted to give them to him already...but I'll hold off until Christmas!

fuzzpig · 23/11/2014 12:02

NotEnoughTime my DH and DCs got me a Meet The Meerkats experience at the local animal park - having it on my birthday next month, I am SO excited! :o

Jealous of your hot cross buns Chipping! It's never the wrong time of year for those Wink

Milly I think it's sensible to have it in the living room where everyone can see her face! That's what I did with a framed poster of DD's favourite painting last year - Santa doesn't use wrapping paper in this house Wink and her face was an absolute picture. Makes me smile every time I look at it :)

Been thinking more about this, I'm also really excited to give books, although I've not chosen which ones yet. I always get DD some really nice gift editions of classic chapter books, and although they don't really get much of a look in on the day itself, they are the gift that keeps on giving, as we both enjoy snuggling up at bedtimes reading them throughout the year :)

speedyteacher · 23/11/2014 12:07

Notenoughtime I have never heard of dino snores I can feel a purchase coming on!!

JuniperTisane · 23/11/2014 12:08

The bikes. DS1 has finally decided that bikes aren't scary and he'd very much like a green one that doesn't wobble (ie, with stabilisers) so thats what he's getting. Ds2 is getting a balance bike as well so hopefully no jealousy here.

ihearttc · 23/11/2014 12:17

Ive ordered DS1 a plush Enderdragon from Minecraft...he has been going on and on about one for ages but they are selling for a ridiculous amount of money on eBay so I said no...its not here yet though.

Oh those Match Attax look fab...will order one but need a picture in his footy strip first!

NotEnoughTime · 23/11/2014 13:14

fuzzpig oooh, lucky you, hope you have a fab day Smile

speedyteacher It's not very cheap understatement as obviously you have to pay for an adult to accompany your child/ren but I think it will be a really good "one off" experience that will hopefully give some good memories. PM me if you want any further info.

Ledkr · 23/11/2014 13:16

I have got tickets to see the latest Matthew Bourne ballet next year for me and dd, she will pass out and I am so excited too.

poolomoomon · 23/11/2014 13:57

DS' Schleich dinosaurs, he's going to be over the moon. And DD's lapin and me woodland dolls, they're so cute! Eek, can't wait...

fuzzpig · 23/11/2014 14:49

Oh I forgot yet another thing Blush my DCs are being spoilt this year!

I've got DD a t-shirt from the US. Unfortunately it's not going to be a great fit so it may end up being a nightie, but she will be over the moon no matter what - it is a picture combining two of her favourite things, Totoro and the painting Starry Night! :o

FixItUpChappie · 23/11/2014 17:35

My 4 year old was fawning over this Buzz Lightyear Projector Figure at the store. On a whim I went back the next day and scooped it up. He won't expect it and it may not last a million years as his favorite thing, but I'm SO excited to see his face when he unwraps it Grin

Guitargirl · 23/11/2014 19:31

Last year we turned the cupboard under the stairs into a play area for the DCs and managed to keep the whole thing a secret until Christmas morning so it looked as though Father Christmas had done it. It was by far the most stressful and yet most successful Christmas present we have done to date. Am struggling to think how to better or equal it this year. I am excited about what I have bought for DP but as far as the DCs go they haven't asked for anything in particular and already have all the usual 'big ticket' things so have just gone for bits and bobs.

Nocturne123 · 23/11/2014 19:42

Oh fuzzpig I hope my Dcs love anime as much as I do . I've just finished decorating dss room in a totoro theme so hopefully when he gets a bit older he'll appreciate it!

That Tshirt sounds great! Etsy have loads of great anime things

fuzzpig · 23/11/2014 20:08

That's funny, DSD (16 and a big anime fan too) and I were talking about a Totoro themed room the other day! That'd be amazing!

I've also got DD the DVD of Kiki's Delivery Service which she will be really happy with. She keeps nicking my plush Jiji (a colleague brought it back from Japan for me). Might ask DH for Arrietty as DD and I are currently reading the Borrowers at bedtime :)

Rowboat · 23/11/2014 23:29

I've put together a dressing up box for dd, she loves dressing up and there's loads of different costumes and bits in, including an elsa dress and seeing as she's always playing red riding hood (" you be bad wolf..now I be the bad wolf") she's got a riding hood cloak that's reversable and has wolf on the other side. She will love it.
ds will only just be 1 but got him the toot toot cars and garage. he loves noisy, flashy, wheeled toys so that should for down as well as possible for his age.
The kids have got geeky Dh the lego delorean which he will love!!!

SteveBrucesNose · 24/11/2014 05:33

I got DH a chessboard that I can't wait for him to see. For any fellow geeks, it's the Noble Harry potter philosophers stone chess board. It's awesome and I can't wait for him to see it

Also I got my friend a taxidermy your own mouse kit from firebox. He's an interior designer who often works on bar fit outs, and random taxidermy animals are a running joke with us. I'm sure I hope anyway that it won't get used, but sheer comedy value on Christmas Day will be worth it

fuzzpig · 24/11/2014 07:06

Rowboat I did a dressing up box when my DCs were 4 and 2 - still gets used every day 3 years later :)

(Envy at the lego Delorean - would love to get that, or the Ghostbusters one, for DH!)

VanillaKip · 24/11/2014 09:04

Our present to our 3 year old, a cuddly red dragon, and a book starring the dragon (Small Knight and George and the Pirates).

I'm so excited!

bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 25/11/2014 22:51

Ooh just bought another one today- last year dd got a story book that came with an ice skate pendant, she loved it but lost it. She randomly asks me to find it, then cries about it being lost. I picked up the book second hand on eBay and I'm going to leave the pendant with a little note saying the elves found it. She will be so happy

SeptemberComesTooSoon · 25/11/2014 23:02

Rugby world cup tickets to see new zealand - can't wait until we can talk about it!

poppetina · 25/11/2014 23:10

I can't wait to give DS his train table for his third birthday in a few weeks. He's obsessed by train sets at the moment and has found a picture of a train table at nursery and keeps wandering round staring at it. He's going to love it!
