I've found ds (5) a dinosaur game off eBay. It's second hand but is boxed and looks brand new, it isn't available in the shops anymore.
Anyway it's like an interactive game where the dinosaurs go on top of the pad thing and it tells you facts and you can play a quiz etc. ds is going to absolutely adore it. I can't wait to give it to him!

What gift are you looking forward most to giving?

Aw this thread is lovely!

I can't wait to give my DM hers. It's a book she has been looking for that's out of print. I finally found a second hand copy in the US so hopefully it'll arrive.

BathshebaDarkstone · 22/11/2014 09:14

Haven't bought any yet. Having a pub lunch tomorrow then going Christmas shopping. DS wants pjs, DD wants dressing up clothes, they'll have a toy each too. Smile

BrieAndChilli · 22/11/2014 09:20

Ds1 maze ball
He never plays with toys (he's 7) just reads and uses electronics. But when he goes for consultant appts he was obsessed with a maze ball they had in the waiting room so I have got him one and glad I have finally found something e might actually play with!

I'm not giving it, other family members hae clubbed together and got the kids a joint preset of a 3ds and games. They've been asking for one for ages but as we told them we tell father Xmas not to bring electronics in our house dd keeps saying she wants one but she knows she won't get one!
Ds2 is going to be so chuffed with his battery powered wooden thomas.

My kids found their Christmas present a few weeks ago. An Xbox One, I was so disappointed as couldn't wait to give it to them. DS1 who is 7 got told there would only be a few other pressies as the Xbox One cost so much he was fine with this. What he doesn't know is the Xbox was free as I won it and due to club card vouchers, nectar points, credit notes from my presents I returned last year as they didn't fit (thanks MIL), and vouchers from work for being Employee of the month. I have managed to buy him and his brother some more little bits and bobs. Board games mainly which they love. Be will be so excited as he genuinely thinks he is just getting the xbox.

Ds's innotab Max so I can have my phone & tablet back!! Confused

MrsCosmopilite · 22/11/2014 09:31

For a family member, a Lipsy fake fur gilet. Picked up from charity shop for £5. Looks totally unworn.
Also snapped up an LK Bennett cardigan for 50p. Same design, different colour currently retails at £90

Redglitter · 22/11/2014 09:35

I've got my niece (aged 11) a half hour driving lesson. I KNOW she's going to love it Smile

NickiFury · 22/11/2014 09:37

Lego Arkham Asylum for ds. It was eye wateringly expensive but year after year he's looked at but never really asked as he knows it's so pricey. He's getting it this year Smile.

fuzzpig · 22/11/2014 10:58

Wow Nicki that looks incredible! We all love lego here - in fact I'm getting my first lego (as in the first that is technically mine rather than the DCs' or DH's) this Xmas as that's all I asked for, I'm so excited! I'm also hoping to get another lego board game for DS as part of his present. As well as both of them getting some regular lego sets.

Milly I'd never heard of wentworth until last Xmas when a friend gave DD one of the Van Gogh ones. The 'whimsy' pieces are so lovely and the quality is brilliant. Before I saw the one in the gift shop is been planning on getting one of the Christmassy designs.

lilyloo · 22/11/2014 11:46

I have made a hairdressers set for dd who is always doing people's hair.
She can get rid of the old vanish bottle for water spray and carrier bag for her brushes and bubbles.
Its a case with a gown , rollers , assorted brushes and a lovely red water spray bottle. She is going to be so pleased.

Corneliusmurphy · 22/11/2014 11:50

Tickets to octonauts live, I bought them ages ago but put them up till Christmas as I couldn't face months of 'is it this weekend?' No January. 'Is it this weekend?' No still January 'when's January?' After Christmas 'is it this weekend?' No still January.

BedPig2013 · 22/11/2014 11:57

I can't wait for dd to unwrap her baby and stroller that I've got her. They're always the first things she plays with at play group and I know she's going to love them Smile

ChippingInAutumnLover · 22/11/2014 12:03

What a lovely thread :)

I haven't bought a single present yet. I need to be done by the 11th of Dec. I'm currently in denial, it's a lovely place with coffee and hot cross buns Grin

GirlAnachronism · 22/11/2014 12:08

I can't wait to give DH his kindle cover, it has the appearance of an old hardback of Dracula, all green and faded :) I'm also really looking forward to seeing the kids open their presents, there is quite a few in that pile i'm really excited about _

3bunnies · 22/11/2014 12:22

This year there are going to be fewer surprises mainly because the dc finally seem to have got the concept of materialism and have produced fairly substantial lists. I think dd2 will love her 10 biographies which she asks for on almost a daily basis (well not 10 but biographies in general because 'famous people always die eventually' and she likes a sad ending). Dd1 will like her sewing kit, not too sure what ds will like best - I got him a weather science kit but he doesn't want to be a meteorologist any more but a boy band singer.

FC has also got them all some personalised key rings which dd2 with her unusual name will particularly love.

GiantGaspingSatanicCyst · 22/11/2014 13:52

BrieAndChilli you've reminded me to get DS an Addictaball for Christmas. He's much like your boy in his interests and really loves the puzzle ball at his grandparents' house :)

I am most looking forward to seeing DD open her present from us. For most of her life she's been obsessed with two particular soft toys that belong to her cousins - a big Jessie and Bullseye from Toy Story. I have got her the exact same toys, except that our Bullseye is bigger. I am hoping for utter joy Grin

Lilicat1013 · 22/11/2014 14:11

This is a brilliant thread, I love hearing about everyone's special surprises.

For my older son it was his Leapreader as it is very him, I am sure he will love it. I had a play with it and he is just going to enjoy it so much.

However he recently seems to have made a Christmas request, that is a big deal as he autistic and pretty much all his speech is echolalia. He doesn't generally have a concept of asking for things that aren't immediate, so for example he will say 'cake' to ask for a cake but would be able to ask to go to swimming for example because he can't see a swimming pool.

After seeing an advert for Toot Toot Animals he keeps saying Toot Toot Animals, I don't think he is asking for them as such but he clearly liked the advert and is thinking about them. The Toot Toot Drivers advert is on loads and he has never said Toot Toot Drivers or copied from any other advert.

So now I am most looking forward to giving him his Toot Toot Animals, I had got them already for him. He has a pack of three and Father Christmas is bringing him a monkey in his stocking (he doesn't do playsets). I can't wait to see his face!

For my little one it is his Cosy Coupe shopping trolley, I have customised it with Ford logo stickers on either side of the car bit because he is weirdly obsessed with the Ford logo.

Aside from that I think he is going to be really excited about all the chocolate!

bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 22/11/2014 18:50

I have just this minute bought dds a trampoline-they love them and spend hours on other people's. we have repeatedly said no so it will be total surprise :) they will love it! I'm so excited to see their little faces

Whatevertheweather · 22/11/2014 19:06

girlanachronism where did you get the kindle cover from? Sounds like something my dp would like!

makingdoo · 22/11/2014 19:42

I can't wait to surprise DH with a guitar. He has always said he'd love to play. So I've got him a guitar and some lessons.

Nocturne123 · 22/11/2014 20:00

How lovely makingdoo ! I got dh tickets to see the wrestling ( he is 27 not 14 Hmm) and he'll love them

I also made a dream catcher for my friends new baby girl and can't wait to give it to her

AugustRose · 22/11/2014 20:01

Have bought DS1 (18) a ticket to see Placebo in March which I know he will love, he rarely asks for anything so is very difficult to buy for.

And DD2 will love her Hello Kitty onesie if I can find one I like (yes I know there are lots I just can't choose) - on her santa list at the bottom it says "anithing Hello Kitty" :) as if she doesn't already have enough.

KnittedJimmyChoos · 22/11/2014 20:04

I'm not going to wrap it but leave it hanging up in the sitting room

same here with our elsa dress....although may try and find celophane wrap....

MILLYmo0se · 22/11/2014 20:41

knitted I should really leave it in her bedroom, but selfishly I want to see her face when she clocks it rather than just hear the screams across the hallway :) !

Star8369 · 22/11/2014 21:36

I got my 12 year old daughter a handmade gothic ragdoll she is going to love it
