Help! What are you getting your 7 year old boy?

Mine has bike, scooter, iPad, wii and ds (and doesn't play with either). He is outdoorsy and we have no idea what to get him and he doesn't even know himself what he would like. He's asked Santa for a "surprise"

Please give me some inspiration. Please.

I've got 7 and 8 year old DS' who both love their roller skates.

We are thinking of getting ds (just turned 7) a set of football goals. Not entirely sure if he will be able to use them before April though

Ds would like a train set.

Basketball net? My nearly 7yr old is the opposite and is a more indoor boy, and yes he also has kindle, D's etc...so we got him some Lego Movie Lego, minecraft figures, Shaun the sheep DVDs, junior scrabble and Teksta Dalmatian (interactive puppy) because I'm a mean mum and won't allow any pets!!!

Considering a guinea pig! Hot wires circuit set was massive hit last year, played with a lot. Have you got a trampoline?

mine is having half a PS4, half of a few PS4 games, half a table tennis table (all shared with DS1 who is 9)

He then has:

We are doing quality not quantity this year - although the list still isn't bad

He has football goals and he uses them ALL the time so think they'll be a great pressie Jimble
We've got him some Minecraft Lego and I did look at the figures but wasn't sure if he would actually do anything with them? We've got him quite a few littler presents but our other two children have got a "big" present too as they wanted new scooters, and we have always done a big present and then lots of little ones, but I'm really stumped for a main pressies, and DH just says something will turn up
I've got pretty much everything now though and am just stressing over this.

All mine wants in Lego. We seem to have everything but I like the roller skates idea a lot.

What about a peddle go kart? My son has had so much use out of his, him and his friends play real life mario kart.

I got mine a den making kit and a set of good walkie talkies which went down a treat for a recent birthday

Does he like a specific football team/do you have a local team. Dh and i are not keen on football be ds2 aged 7 loves it so he is getting our local(championship) team replica kit, new boots, membetship to their childrens club and some tickets to take a friend to a match in the new year. May buy a new ball too.

Mine are older but top toys were binoculars, a bug collecting kit, a metal detector and walkie talkies. All fairly cheap. Just got my niece and nephew walkie talkies for £15 from Amazon.

Heelies? Those trainers with wheels in, my dd 9 loves hers.

Agree den making kit. Ds is 8 so not much older. He is getting a tablet which yours already has.
He asked for a metal detector too. Not got him a big fancy one but imagine he will have a bit of fun with it.

zoobs are a big hit in this house (although they are generally used for making laser blasters etc)

Would he play one of the more toy based wii games like disney infinity or skylanders with all the characters. They've been life savers for us in recent years since you can bulk out the present pile with the extra figures.

As a smaller gift there is a good set of books for minecraft if he has the minecraft game

In past years mine have liked

night vision glasses and army vests with lots of pockets
so much lego we could set up a shop
sucker tip bow and arrows from decathlon. These were a massive hit last year and the whole family has had fun using them

He loves Minecraft but I was looking at all the figures etc today in Toys R Us and I'm not sure he'd play with them.

However, I am about to research the den kit and pedal Go Kart. Thanks everyone, some fab suggestions!

Regards the pedal Go Kart, he's 7.5 and all the ones I can see on Amazon say they are upto age 8, does anyone know of any others that are larger? Thanks

Not sure if they're still about but ours is a kettler, it's for up to about 10yo. I originally bought it for my little sister in 2001 (big age gap) and she passed it down. Was about £100 ish but it's worth it, it's still as good as new, never had no trouble at all (other than a respray)
