Mine has bike, scooter, iPad, wii and ds (and doesn't play with either). He is outdoorsy and we have no idea what to get him and he doesn't even know himself what he would like. He's asked Santa for a "surprise" Hmm

Please give me some inspiration. Please.

Thank you! I've just bought the den making kit. I've also bought an indoor football hovercraft thing and roller skates. I've also bought a DIY football league table and a football factoid book. I'll also get an annual and various stocking bits like new socks, pants, stationary and chocolates. I think I might be nearly done!

Giant type it into Amazon you will get different results.
It is a kit that comes with ropes, tarpaulin and usually things like binoculars and stuff for children to build a den. You get plainer ones and pirates etc. it is loads of fun.

Xbox 360, a few games. Horrid history books, Lego, slim experiments.

He prefers outdoors and already has, scooter, skateboard, bike, den building kit. I want to get him a trampoline but we can only afford one main present.

Not sure if they're still about but ours is a kettler, it's for up to about 10yo. I originally bought it for my little sister in 2001 (big age gap) and she passed it down. Was about £100 ish but it's worth it, it's still as good as new, never had no trouble at all (other than a respray)

Swingball? Has the advantage that you can play it against yourself.

He loves Minecraft but I was looking at all the figures etc today in Toys R Us and I'm not sure he'd play with them.

However, I am about to research the den kit and pedal Go Kart. Thanks everyone, some fab suggestions!

table football?
skateboard and ramps?
zoobs are a big hit in this house (although they are generally used for making laser blasters etc)

Would he play one of the more toy based wii games like disney infinity or skylanders with all the characters. They've been life savers for us in recent years since you can bulk out the present pile with the extra figures.

As a smaller gift there is a good set of books for minecraft if he has the minecraft game

In past years mine have liked

Hotwires
Telescope
night vision glasses and army vests with lots of pockets
so much lego we could set up a shop
sucker tip bow and arrows from decathlon. These were a massive hit last year and the whole family has had fun using them

Agree den making kit. Ds is 8 so not much older. He is getting a tablet which yours already has.
He asked for a metal detector too. Not got him a big fancy one but imagine he will have a bit of fun with it.

Mine are older but top toys were binoculars, a bug collecting kit, a metal detector and walkie talkies. All fairly cheap. Just got my niece and nephew walkie talkies for £15 from Amazon.
