Its a giant squishable cuddly toy. Would cost $90 not accounting for any possible customs/vat charges.

I've told her she might not get it but she reckons Father Christmas might be able to get one no problem. Hmm. She's 13yo and adamantly believes in Father Christmas, though I suspect deep down she knows he's not real. When I tried to broach that topic two years ago there were tears so I haven't gone there again.

I do have the money but its an obscene amount of money for a cuddly toy.

its this

Have seen there's a smaller (cheaper) version available in spring. She can definitely wait for her birthday.

Knowing my luck the dogs would gut it within days anyway. Grin

Why does technical aptitude and a fondness for cartoonish objects so often go hand in hand?

VivaLeBeaver · 16/11/2014 22:54

Dunno. She's very into obscure animé as well as odd YouTube cartoons.

Viva, the 15 inch ones are between £37-47 to buy here on eBay, which is making your import one look not that much more expensive if only you knew about the import tax!

RJnomore · 16/11/2014 22:57

She sounds like my almost 15yo viva, although its imported Pokemon stuff I have to track down for her and thankfully it's usually cheaper to get stuff imported from Asia than America.

I think that's why I've got so invested in this thread

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 16/11/2014 22:59

Rooty Grin It's funny because it's true.

VivaLeBeaver · 16/11/2014 23:01

I reckon it'll be £30 tax. That's how much tax the chinchilla wheel cost me (maybe £25) and they were a similar purchase price.

So $90 plus £30.

Ridiculous amount for a soft toy. I've just watched a few minutes of the cartoon on YouTube for the first time. Its absolute crap.

Hi VivaLeBeaver,

We should have Puppycat available on the UK site in the first week of December. It's estimated as 15th December but we're expecting it a little earlier. If you've registered to be notified, we'll email you as soon as it's available.

We've not announced it yet so it's a mumsnet exclusive! :D

Hope this helps!

rootypig · 16/11/2014 23:04

I demand to be told what alchemy is this.

VivaLeBeaver · 16/11/2014 23:05

Agghhhh. Really?

This isn't a name hanger shitting me? Grin

See how much publicity I'm giving your fab company? If you get them for the 15th do you reckon I'd get one in time for Xmas day?

Also, how much for the cat-dog Grin

VivaLeBeaver · 16/11/2014 23:05

I guess if their website sees lots of people coming to them from Mumsnet then they come here to see why?!?

OP posts:
VivaLeBeaver · 16/11/2014 23:06

It helps a lot. I've registered to be notified already.

I suspect I do not wish to know the terrifying answer

RJnomore · 16/11/2014 23:07

£30 tax! On a £35 Ish purchase?

Is there a way I can block all american sites on my broadband router?

ErrolTheDragon · 16/11/2014 23:07

There is no Santa but there is the power of MN. Grin

Elderflowergranita · 16/11/2014 23:08

Jaysus, wht is it with MN?

One thread: should I carry on with the nonsense of Santa Claus with my 5yo?

Next thread: spending a ridiculous amount on a 'Santa' gift for a 13
yo.

Your DD is is being silly, and you are indulging her for whatever crazy reasons you have.

VivaLeBeaver · 16/11/2014 23:09

OP, ARE YOU TOTALLY MAD?

NeedsAsockamnesty · 16/11/2014 23:12

A American with a home vacuum sealing gadget would make a huge huge difference to postage they suck out the air making them tiny

VivaLeBeaver · 16/11/2014 23:12

Probably Grin
