I'm in search of inspiration. I reckon there's a budget of about £50 before DH starts huffing about us not being able to afford to eat next year (not the case!).

I'm wondering about

  • running gear but I'm pretty well set for that
  • something like the hush bright pink baby alpaca knit jumper if it goes in the sale
  • another new bag??

What are you getting from your DP?

Nothing I would imagine. We don't usually buy each other a present, there's nothing I need anyway, and after adding baby number 4 to the family this summer we will need to put more money towards presents for the kids so probably won't have any spare for presents for each other.

IsabellaofFrance · 15/11/2014 13:37

DH and I are doing one present each to each other. I am getting him a new pair of work shoes, and he is getting me some Joules wellies.

Romantic we are Grin

DamselNotInHerDress · 15/11/2014 13:43

Erm, probably nothing!

schmeegle · 15/11/2014 15:14

Nada.

Never have since the nippers were born. Can't say I miss it. I don't really need anything.

Arlagirl · 15/11/2014 15:21

Nothing this year.

snowmanshoes · 15/11/2014 15:26

Ive got some boots that I've chosen myself and I'd love the Christmas pudding Pandora charm!

alseb · 15/11/2014 16:06

Probably something very little. I hope it is better than the wooden marmite jar mini cheese knives holder that he gave last year. Now that was a surprise!!

momb · 15/11/2014 16:12

I've asked for a little handbag I saw in our local jewellers window. I never normally ask for anything and bless him he always chooses something thoughtful but I'm usually underwhelmed. I saw the bag on the way to the hairdressers and thought it was sweet so mentioned it as soon as I got home. Hope it isn't expensive!

TheScottishPlay · 15/11/2014 16:30

We tend not to buy each other but buy a gift from DS.

NumTumDeDum · 15/11/2014 16:33

Computer parts probably! We need to replace my laptop before it dies, DH got a basic computer which needs work from a friend so all the bits needed to upgrade it. Would prefer perfume, but needs must as I need it for working at home.

If I hint heavily enough, some perfume. If not, I will be going out and buying it myself after Christmas. Grin

I would like some Troll bead/charms to go on the bracelet he bought me two years ago, which still only has three beads. Hmm

Actually, I don't mind not getting anything, as long as the DC are happy.

LynetteScavo · 15/11/2014 16:39

But, incase DH stalks me on MN, I would really like an Emma Bridgewater mug personalised with my name.

Shinyshoes2 · 15/11/2014 16:46

I'm getting
A diary he buys me from the kids every year from organised mum
A new coat

oldsilver · 15/11/2014 16:57

I would like a decent set of kitchen scales, my Smartprice emergency stopgap scales I've had for 5 years doesn't quite weigh true and the bowl is cracked.

Mehitabel6 · 15/11/2014 16:59

I won't know until the day. I can't see the point if you know now!

MelonOfTroy · 15/11/2014 17:04

I've asked for new ck pants, a pandora necklace, scent diffuser from Yankee candle, Joseph and Joseph kitchen stuff, a new fob watch for work, Clinique lipstick, ummm can't remember what else. I won't get everything on my list but like to give ideas to DH and parents.

I started a thread a while ago and was advised to check out the gift tab on the John Lewis website which gave me some ideas.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherReindeerDoes · 15/11/2014 17:09

Nothing as don't have DP but kids are getting me perfume, PJ's, socks and another Star by Julian McDonald bedding set.

noddyholder · 15/11/2014 17:11

We never do I don't see teh point really. I don't need anything and prefer birthdays

CMOTDibbler · 15/11/2014 17:19

Probably cycling stuff from dh. BIL/PIL will buy from my Amazon wishlist.

fluffydressinggown · 15/11/2014 17:23

I have asked for pearl earrings. I had some from my wedding day that I lost recently :(

WidowWadman · 15/11/2014 17:25

I've got no idea and won't find out until Christmas however as every year I've been placed under a strict ban around a couple of weeks ago to not buy anything for myself at all, no matter how cool it is.

I'm intrigued, but the surprise and the thought that went into choosing is as important if not more than the present itself

Don't have a DP but always buy myself something nice, this year it's a Michael Kors watch.

OatcakeCravings · 15/11/2014 17:45

A kindle, hopefully! I've dropped hints, well said "buy me a kindle for Xmas".
