Found this gorgeous cardboard box like Christmas tree navy advent calendar with big draws in. I have 4 kids, so this is perfect for us.

Also, Clintons Cards is amazing as all of their gifts are buy one get one free.
I bought Yankee candle stuff, including their advent calendar and jelly bean company rudolf jelly beans tubes. £2.20 for two Bouncy clear plastic balls like a snow globe with snow and father Xmas, snowman or Xmas tree. £3 for two.

wigglesrock · 12/11/2014 13:21

Oh help...... My kids have hudls. dd1 got one for Christmas last year. We've been really happy with them. They use them for all that you've mentioned in your post - mainly Minecraft, Minecraft, Minecraft and watching Minecraft videos Smile. They also use it for watching the iplayer, Netflix, taking photos, making videos/little films.

JoJoH1 · 12/11/2014 13:31

Can anyone tell what the name of the children's craft subscription was - the thing where the child got sent craft stuff and ideas every month I can remember seeing it ages ago but now cant recall the name - if there are any discount codes too that would be much appreciated!

SpottyTeacakes · 12/11/2014 13:32

Umm toucan box?

waithorse · 12/11/2014 13:42

Toucan box. I cancelled, nice idea, but ridiculously expensive for what you get. You can get similar craft sets anywhere for a lot less money. The novelty of getting them posted was nice for a while though.

chocolatereindeer · 12/11/2014 13:52

Taa-dah! They've arrived. They were massively squished up in the package but they've expanded back almost the whole way to being cubes again. So not worth £15 each, they're too squshy to sit on as I'd hoped. Fabric is quite soft and they seem fairly well made though. Just pointless as they're just squishy cubes... Xmas Hmm Why did I buy these? No matter, the DC will love them and it'll bulk up their tiny present piles.

So I popped out to Asda for cheep chocolate oranges to eat now save for Christmas and I spotted the toddler bed sized Christmas bedding. 2 styles but I went for the advent calender one to match DDs set from Matalan. It was out of stock last time I looked online but may be back now.

marne2 · 12/11/2014 13:58

Also bought the M&S biscuit tins today ( carousel ) on offer for £5 each, they are lovely, perfect gifts for the old people in my life that I struggle to buy for Grin.

marne2 · 12/11/2014 14:00

Elvish, I only popped in Asda, it ended up costing me £90 Shock, I saw the bedding too, looked lovely, had to control myself and not buy any.

JoJoH1 · 12/11/2014 14:01

Toucan - knew it was a bloody bird name. Thank you guys agree does seem overpriced for DN who is just getting into craft agree about the novelty of the post thing - is there a craft magazine for children?

Rugbylovingmum · 12/11/2014 14:06

We used to get a weekend box from here. Haven't compared prices with toucan but it was quite good until DD started school - craft set, recipe and some ingredients, seeds to grow (or similar 'green' project) plus a little game to make or play. Still expensive for what's in it but good for ideas and DD enjoyed getting a parcel.

JoJoH1 · 12/11/2014 14:15

Weekend box looks good but to young for my niece who is 8 - great for dd who is 4 though! Thanks.

SpaghettiMeatballs · 12/11/2014 14:17

I'm sure this has been covered off in previous threads but I can't remember what the conclusion was..... Cello wrap?? Did someone link a large roll that can be used for making hampers?

I am going to get the DCs to decorate cardboard boxes to make up a hamper for nursery but would like cello wrap to cover it all.
