eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 12/11/2014 12:09

Spotty once my recent orders arrive I will finish my family wrapping this week my excuse is baby arrival n family visiting means they can take them all away although as we have no baby name all tags say from me, dh, ds and baby!!

zipzap · 12/11/2014 12:11

Thanks everyone for the mug cake books and mugs.

Bizarrely I'd looked at The Works last night for it and it came back with lots of cake books and lots of mugs but not the mug cake book ConfusedHmm

I've just been and tried to order some of the books from The Works (It's supposed to be a cheap present that looks nice which is why I'm avoiding the more expensive Lakeland, Boots etc ones) especially as I spotted that TopCashBack have 20% cashback and 15% off your order in The Works at the moment which would have made them almost a third cheaper. Unfortunately whilst I was merrily throwing loads of other bits and bobs into my basket, it suddenly showed them as being out of stock (I'm guessing some other on this thread might have got there first so haven't got them , although I do have a load of other stuff from there instead.

And I rang my local branch of The Works, they have some copies in stock so although I won't get my cashback and discount [sob] they're still cheaper than the Book People and Amazon and I will have knocked another 6 presents off my list.

I'm going to get a cheap mug to go with them but I think that for difficult to buy for students/recent ex-students it will be a reasonable present!

SpottyTeacakes · 12/11/2014 12:12

We had the same issue two years ago. Ds was due end of December but came end of November. I had done all my wrapping though!

PinkSquash · 12/11/2014 12:17

ZipZap I think Quidco let's you upload your receipt to get cashback, maybe TopCashback does the same so you won't miss out?

Dreamstosell · 12/11/2014 12:21

Ihatethecold iPods are the same price in Argos too and the have the £10 voucher back on

Dreamstosell · 12/11/2014 12:25

Oops meant to say £10 voucher when spend £100 again. Posted too soon as postman came to the door the another parcel for me Smile

jThompson · 12/11/2014 12:30

Tesco this morning has skylanders swapforce starter packs at £9.95. The had Xbox and ps3 left but none for the Wii Sad
Still at £45 online.

Gatekeeper · 12/11/2014 12:32

just received these today and a minecraft cushion. I ordered them 26th october so not too bad really. Quality is excellent; ds was sighing over the sword in Forbidden Planet but it was over £20. Sword and pickaxe was £10.99 for the pair and cushion keyring thing £2.59 delivered

duckbilled · 12/11/2014 12:34

Does anyone have a code for not on the high street please? It is my 5th wedding anniversary in December and I have found a beautiful wooden photo ornament... It's just a tad pricey!

marne2 · 12/11/2014 12:35

Not a huge bargain but Asda has chocolate oranges for £1, I bought a load for teachers and for stocking fillers ( I must try not to eat them ).

KraggleLego · 12/11/2014 12:37

Not sure if anyone is interested in this but I just got a Little Mermaid Prince Eric Doll for just over £8 on AmazonHere

waithorse · 12/11/2014 12:37

Impossible for me to buy chocolate oranges this early. I would eat them. Blush

OohOod · 12/11/2014 12:40

Receipt upload go topcashback on the works is £5 back for £20 spend ( or was yesterday anyway).

RL
Poundland has loads of new frozen things and Jane Asher baking stuff.

dingit · 12/11/2014 12:45

For those of you Frozen lovers, Primark had loads of merchandise this morning ( for adults too). The little girl dresses were gorgeous. Sadly at 16 dd will not appreciate one, but I may get her the Olaf tshirt that says ' some people are worth melting for'

zipzap · 12/11/2014 12:47

jthompson I missed out on the skylanders swapforce in store in tesco too - went specially to look for it. Decided that I would get it and be done with as it was a good price and I wouldn't have to worry any more about it! I'm guessing it might come up cheaper in black friday week but now I don't have to worry about itt or get stuck buying something much more expensive when it doesn't come up at all!

however they did have the wii version for £25 on the Tesco Outlet on eBay - just 3 left now:

They also have 3 for 2 on lots of their skylander stuff on there - there seem to be 2 promotions, one that has the wii starter pack in it and one that doesn't so make sure that you get the right one, plus you need to put everything into your basket and then buy the basket, rather than buy the three things with the 'buy it now' option for each of them if that makes sense...

Hello, I think this might be my first post here this year (I've NCd to my Christmas name too).

Thanks to everyone here for sharing their bargainous tips and ideas, and thanks to you I have my shopping virtually complete.
I know a lot of you are after Monty and Mabel stuff - and maybe I can help a tiny bit: I'm going to a JL later night shopping event for cardholders tonight, and would expect them to have stocked up on penguin related merchandise! I could try and get one ('medium' penguin or Mug, I'll be cycling) - and post them on. Please PM me before 6pm, I have a busy afternoon at work so can't keep up with the thread. You'll know tomorrow morning if you were successful / If I was successful at JL. And no, I don't intend to surcharge Xmas Smile but am expecting you to reimburse me for second class postage on top of the item cost. And if it all fall through I can still ebay it Xmas Grin!

Luckily my kids watch less TV and more youtube, so I don't need to buy penguins for us! (just Moshlings and associated plastic tat!)

OhCobblers · 12/11/2014 13:02

MindReader tesco F&F have frozen fancy dress in stock (both anna and elsa) for £13.50 up to size 7-8.

nickdrakeslovechild · 12/11/2014 13:04

Argos are doing a triple pack of barbies for £6.49, they come in 2 separate boxes so 3 super cheap presents. Can't link at the mo but if you search argos for barbie triple doll it comes up.

traviata · 12/11/2014 13:05

LikeSilver thank you for the biscuiteers code, I was dithering and have just placed an order.

ps you also get £5 off if you sign up to newsletters, but you can't stack that with EARLYBIRD.

nickdrakeslovechild · 12/11/2014 13:07

Damn clumsy fingers! The triple pack of babies come in 3 separate boxes not 2.

IceLemonGin · 12/11/2014 13:07

Gatekeeper Do you have the link where you ordered the Minecraft sword/axe from?

Also, has anyone seen any of those slushy cups for around £5?

nickdrakeslovechild · 12/11/2014 13:08

Oh ffs, you know what I mean.

IceLemonGin · 12/11/2014 13:12

Also I have two 5yo boys to buy for. I was thinking about getting a Lego set each but don't want to spend more than £7/8 each. They also both love superheroes so any alternative ideas welcome!
