I know as a body MN eschews glittery shit and twigs.

But I have fallen in love with this bad boy which I plan to place in my hall and hang with Christmas decorations.

Is it naffer than mad Jack Mcnaff? Do I care??

I have the mini one.I would like the big one, but couldn't replace my real tree and don't have space otherwise. In my dreams I have a whole forest of them lining my vast imaginary hallway.

You are a bit crazy, but only because you can buy the same thing as a smaller table-top version from Dunhelm Mill for £5.99 IIRC (or you could last year).

So, it's not getting an uber naff thumbs down.

It won't be a replacement tree. My house is a weird layout, the real tree is on one floor and sometimes it feels like the rest of the house has been overlooked. I have a birthday coming and I thought I might as DM to spring for it.

I will check out this Dunelm Mill that you speak of, I have never bought anything from them before.

I love it but then I love all twigs and pebbly shit type stuff.

The important thing is to go and have a look at them. They're not naff in and of themselves at all, in fact they can look exquisite if they're done right.

But they do have to be well made. I bought one off ebay and it would never, ever have been right. The ones I saw in John lewis last year were very nice. I would definitely pay extra to get one that has the right look.

I'd dress it in white, clear and frosted baubles. Beautiful, winter wonderland look.

My opinion is that it is a stupidly expensive twig. Sorry. Can you not get a real twig, spray it white or silver, or even leave it twig coloured and shove some lights on it, if such things appeal to you?

A very slightly less stupidly expensive twig here but still stupidly expensive.

I love it. I just brought this from hobbycraft (15% off if you sign up to their news letter). It lights up a dark corner in our lounge and really makes the room feel cosy at night. We've got a couple of tabke lamps but they didn't give quite enough light to be cosy not dark and the addition of the expensive twig as DH lovingly calls it just completes the lighting.

Its my fault its called the expensive twig because I described it as a sort of twig with lights thats a big expensive when I mentioned I was going to buy it and DH was amused.

Opinions on cost aside, it's not actually a twig. It's a six foot tree. It's also pre-lit.

I wouldn't spend £80 on it but I do like it.

I love these, I think they look better without decorations myself, could the base be hidden somehow? I would love a whole load of them around my fantasy mansion/Downton Abbey style house. I am naff at Christmas and would surround them with woodland animals like the displays at the garden centres, just me though, don't jump on me!

The thing is, I don't have to the JL people have hen and done it for me bless their artisan knitted socks.

I'm thinking glass ornaments too. Total poncetastic to counter the family tree which looks like the elves threw up on it after the kids are finished.

I do like the price of the Hobbycraft version though...

Glass ornaments, yes indeedy! it will be spangly wonderful and I want one, sadly funds don't allow this year

The only thing naff about it is price. Defiantly check out Dunelm or Wilkinsons although don't think they have 6ft ones like JL

I've seen it in store, decorated with baubles. It was very pretty.

My mum has one , its a JL one but not in white ( brownish colour) , she got it from a JL clearance place on Amazon either last year or the year before . It stays up all year and at Christmas it has robins and something else hanging off it ( can't remember what) . Like yourself hers is not a replacement tree but in a different room to the usual tree. She paid about £40 for it and its very lovely.

Pretty, but too expensive for me.

I bought the brown trunk one a couple of years ago - saw it in store, baulked at the price but couldn't get it out if my head so I got it. No regrets at all - it is lovely. Not a replacement for the main tree (which had an 'eclectic' look, being kind) but for a different room. I mostly put clear glass baubles on it, a few silver, and it is gorgeous. Last year I had a newly walking DS and do left off the baubles and it was still lovely. All depends whether you can afford it - if was a bit of a luxury for us but I am glad I did.

Its not naff at all, how could a very simple and plain white tree be naff? Its beautiful, however do check out homebase they may have same but cheaper.
