I'm sure there was a similar thread but I can't find it.

My DS is tricky to buy for and this year I'm stumped.
He really wants a globe but my inlaws are getting that, and he likes lego, but still has some left from his birthday to make.
We have a train set and playmobil but it barely gets played with.

We limit screen time as it has a terrible effect on him, so no tablet.

Please help!! What are you getting yours?

I'm really struggling with Christmas this year - usually love shopping and tend to go ott but this year it just feels like more 'stuff' iykwm
Dd is 6 and just wants frozen but has also put down surprises on her list in case f.c spots something else she may like...
And dts who are 5 have basically circled everything in the smyths catalogue and asked for octonauts toys which I don't think exist!!
So far I have
Vtech watches for each boy
Imaginext bat cave to share

Postman pat stuff for dts2

Elsa and Anna with skates - Disney store ones not the Mattel - (hopefully she won't mind) for dd
A soft else for dd

She also wants the Lego friends mall but I'm hoping the price will go down

Ds is just 6 and is getting:
Star Wars lego
Books
DVDs
Lightsaber
How to train your dragon pjs
Transformers bumblebee
Nerf gun
Minecraft axe

My magma tile church.
They're pretty cool and you can open the front like a door and the rest doesn't collapsed.
Am pleased. Maybe not £100 pleased but pleased...

What are you getting your 5yo boys?

Ooh I'm going to have to log onto my laptop to see the magna tile church! I'm concerned that DS will not think it comparable to the shop his Dsis has got... Even though it's cost 3x£££!
Oh well, his DB has nothing yet, but that's another thread!!

ok, still debating in this house but looks like ds will be getting:-

arctic base or police station lego
transformer walkie talkies
usbourne book on stones & fossils
small fossil & stone sets
who shook hook
maybe a digibird

tbh he also asked for hot wheels but i can't face another stupid overbig plastic pile of crap that doesn't do what it is supposed to do. He also asked for airhogs but the reviews on amazon are terrible.

Wow, now I want magnatiles.

DS was 5 last christmas and his favourite things were hexbugs, top trumps and CDs, especially They May Be Giants Science.

Now, turning 6 he is getting for christmas and birthday:

  • lego game
  • Operation game
  • junior monopoly
  • possibly MP3 player/ipod
  • watch that actually works this time!

Sorry, marking place as I'm supposed to be writing an essay and could easily become sidetracked by this thread.

If it helps for now, DS had his fifth birthday in September and he got a Galt marble run which he has played loads with.

He also got a lego batman set which he has played with non-stop as he does with most new lego. Keep an eye out for freebies in the paper, they make good stocking fillers, usually WHSmith have them.

I'm really stuck for Christmas presents, I have ordered him some lego but I'm struggling for a "main" present. He has asked for a robot puppy (Teksta) but I have heard they are pretty crap and I'm not willing to pay £60 for something which will lie on a shelf from boxing day. Is there a cheapy version of this anywhere that will fulfill the wish but not break the bank?

ShakyTheStork · 17/11/2014 00:04

duplo my ds is all about the Lego too. He is mad about the individual mini figures . I didn't know you could get them as a set. Any idea where from, please?

APlaceInTheWinter · 17/11/2014 00:10

DS is getting:
Star Wars Command set
Lego
Octonauts whale gup
Hot wheels

It's funny to see how many PP have my little pony on their lists. DS loves it too.

mootime · 17/11/2014 08:51

Ok, so decisions made I think.
We are getting him
Stocking-
Digibird,
Frozen figures ( bought on amazon lightening deal)
General crap from tiger..!!

Present from FC - magnatiles
Present from us - lego and guess who and scooby doo pillow pet.

He's just asked for a transformer so I might get him a small one for his stocking.

Godmother buying him - gears gears gears
DB getting him - design and drill

I randomly bought two dinosaur train figures that talk to each other as they were cheap on amazon but I think they may be too young for him, and also he's got quite a bit now...
