I am after some inspiration please.

I have ds all sorted (train sets) - he's 2. Need stocking-y ideas for him, bearing in mind I have a houseful of tat already from his elder sisters Grin

I have got the little people skyway track for dd1 (age 10, but has severe ASD.) she also really enjoys other toddler toys sch as the Scout puppy/leapfrog fridge letters, as she loves singing along - does anyone have any idea of a similar toy, aimed at slightly older (ie 3-4 year ols, rather than 18 months -2 ish) that I can get her?

And dd2 (age 7, has Aspergers) I am really stuck. She has a load of stocking bits atm, but no main present. Any ideas (NOT frozen stuff! Grin as I expect she'll get loads of that from relatives)

Thanks

Sad the penguin onesies from JL have sold out in dd's size ( blue one ), she would have loved one. Anyone know where I can get a penguin onesie?

Elvish · 06/11/2014 17:46

Pandas 2yr old DS is getting stocking fillers of some little people (just the people to go in cars he already has), a book, chocolate santa (aldi), a flashing dolphin for the bath (see OP) and some bubble bath.

How about some CDs to sing along to for DD1? There are a few sets on the book people, some are DVDs too if she might enjoy that? You could look out for a kids MP3 player/speaker thing for her too maybe?

Remember the WAUBIRTHDAY code from a while back... There are 6 Melissa & Doug advent calenders back in stock now. Works out at £6.44 delivered.

Also they stock the M&D penguins, works out £14ish, things seem a bit penguin crazy at the moment because of the JL advert!

PandasRock · 06/11/2014 18:00

Thanks, Elvish. We are awash with happyland cars/figures/buildings/people after 10 years of buying baby/toddler toys, so buying more seems a bit, I don't know,

It's tricky. We have a houseful of toddler/preschool toys, and trying to find something a bit different is impossible, it seems.

Dd1 has an ipad, so can sing along to 'real' music, but she is just beginning to enjoy 'playing', but trying to balance age and skills is defeating me! She functions at about reception level, for eg reading/writing, but her motor skills lag behind, so eg she still uses duplo rather than lego. Ds got give a. scout, and dd1 has really enjoyed playing with it, so I wondered whether there was anything 'next stage up' from that, iyswim?

insanityscratching · 06/11/2014 18:04

SpottyTeacakes · 06/11/2014 18:10

Anyone been to JL in Cardiff today/tonight? I'm desperate for Monty and Mabel...I've just phoned and they have a lot in stock on the system but might be nothing on shop floor. Is it worth DH driving down tomorrow morning to check? About 70 miles away to our nearest though!

andadietcoke · 06/11/2014 18:37

happyhens I'm just considering whether to go to our local one tonight. Haven't rung to check stock though...

SpaghettiMeatballs · 06/11/2014 18:40

They have them online happyhens. £3 delivery or free collection from Waitrose.

sweetkitty · 06/11/2014 18:41

Right best place to buy Elf on a Shelf? Don't want a creepy one just a cute one?

Also looking for Sylvanian Families furniture I got for DD2, £13 thanks to a voucher.

BeaLola · 06/11/2014 18:43

I bought a Monty and Mabel today after going past a John Lewis at Home , hadn't seen the advert then and the lady i store said The toys were flying off the shelf . I got the small ones which were 13 and 14 cm respectively ... They have their names on the bottom and Monty looks down on Mabel ... Super cute. The larger ones I didn't like as much. They had the cushions and a few other bits but the toys were IMO the nicest.

Happyhens · 06/11/2014 18:43

spaghetti they're already sold out online. :( I keep refreshing in hope that they will be back in stock.

SpaghettiMeatballs · 06/11/2014 18:44

Monty and Mabel have gone out of stock since I posted. Xmas Shock

marne2 · 06/11/2014 18:44

Everyone's going penguin crazy, I can highly recommend the Melissa and Doug penguin, it's huge and sits nicely on my dd's bed. Dd loves penguins and we have quite a few, the M&D one is her favourite.

SpaghettiMeatballs · 06/11/2014 18:44

X post happyhens!

Happyhens · 06/11/2014 18:46

If anyone sees any will they be willing to get me one of each in the small size (£12) each. DS and DD have just watched the advert and said "they have the same names as us"

insanityscratching · 06/11/2014 18:46

Kindle code gone now

Dreamstosell · 06/11/2014 18:53

For anyone still looking for Flavourly beer code I just got FLV8BEER52 to work. It gives £10 off so the trial pack costs £5. It's an old code that I found on MSE forum dated October last year here
But it worked Smile

PinkSquash · 06/11/2014 18:53

We are penguin mad here, we live near to a coastal centre that has penguins and the DC are obsessed. I'd love the jumpers for the DC, but I couldn't justify the cost Xmas Sad

They are super cute though. Am hoping to take them to see the 3d penguin thingy too.

JubJubBirds · 06/11/2014 18:57
