When I'm still sporting my Hallowe'en name too! Feeling very pleased with myself.

Big crisps box, covered in last year's tail end of wrapping paper. It has a dark Chocolate Orange in it Grin

Does anyone else have a Christmas Box?

I've been getting bits and bobs while I've been shopping. I aim to get at least one item a week when it's on offer. It then sits bagged on top of the kitchen cupboards, i write a list too, so if I snaffled anything it would be blatant.

Guitargirl · 02/11/2014 19:28

My mum used to do one too and woe betide any one of us who was caught rustling around in it before December. My grans both did one too, apparently my nan was caught out one year as she went into hospital on Christmas Day to give birth to my aunt and when my grandad and the older children went to get the chocolates out they discovered that my nan had already scoffed the bottom layer of all the boxes of chocolates.

InvasionOfTheBodyShatners · 02/11/2014 19:30

Nice one, GuitarNan. She must have known she wouldn't be there to enjoy the chocolates Smile

Sloe gin.
Chocolate stollen
After eights

Nice stuffing
Chocolate pizza (for dd)

Guitargirl · 02/11/2014 19:35

Yes, I think she was past the point of caring to be honest! I can picture her, 8 months pregnant with her feet up, riffling through the boxes Smile

InvasionOfTheBodyShatners · 02/11/2014 19:36

Upgrade to a box, Viva. You won't regret it.

OP posts:
VivaLeBeaver · 02/11/2014 19:40

Yes, box sounds a good idea. Can put more in it!

InvasionOfTheBodyShatners · 02/11/2014 19:42

Where could I get a chocolate stollen, by the way?

OP posts:
VivaLeBeaver · 02/11/2014 19:53

Shatners. Chatsworth House farm shop of course. Grin

InvasionOfTheBodyShatners · 02/11/2014 19:55

Brilliant, it's not far from me and one of my best friends works there. There's no better stollen than a staff discounted stollen Grin

Not been to Chatsworth farm shop for years.

So far we've got a Christmas pudding and a box of Quality Street.

lunar1 · 02/11/2014 20:04

I had a christmas chocolate orange, then I ate it. The whole bloody thing in one pmt fuled binge. I don't have the will power for a christmas box!

3pigsinblanketsandasausagerole · 02/11/2014 20:07

I have hidden some tree chocolates so dp can't eat them

I want a box

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/11/2014 20:08

I hate chocolate oranges. Dp insists on getting one every Christmas. Horrible things.

InvasionOfTheBodyShatners · 02/11/2014 20:09

I don't like them either, but Christmas wouldn't be the same without one. I feel the same about turkey Blush

VivaLeBeaver · 02/11/2014 20:10

That's handy Shatners. Thought you were going to say you were 200 miles from Chatsworth.

PingPongBat · 02/11/2014 20:10

We have Christmas Carrier Bags (old Ocado carrier bags) - but I'm definitely upgrading to a decorated box! Unfortunately we took a load of old boxes to the tip today so have none left in the house...

So far I have two boxes of chocolate biscuits which were BOGOF last week, but will be adding to it every week now.

Last year one of the carrier bags had a pineapple in it. We found it in March Blush

makemineapinot · 02/11/2014 20:31

Christmas bottle of Baikeys is almost gone and I swear I have no idea what could have happened to the 2 tins of Heroes that seem to have vanished into thin air... Tumbleweeds are tumbling slowly through my Christmas box!!!

catwithflowers · 02/11/2014 20:32

Ooh am loving this idea!! At the moment I have two Christmas carrier bags (including vacuum packed chestnuts, 99p, Home Bargains!) and a Christmas shelf in the garage but clearly a Christmas box is the way forward Smile

So far I have lots of BOGOF chocolate things, Maltesers, after eights, selection boxes, crackers for cheese, Reese's pieces, some horrid looking piña colada thing for one of the older teens, Red Bull for stockings for the younger teens, tubes of fruit pastilles, jelly tots etc and some Christmas crisps, goose fat, coffee beans and chestnuts. Grin

BathshebaDarkstone · 02/11/2014 20:37

Aaarrrggghhh! It's only November 2nd! The kids are already choosing Nectar presents though. Grin

catwithflowers · 02/11/2014 20:39

Oh and chocolate biscuits which were half price at M&S!!!! The whole box thing eminds me of being young and caravan holidays. My mum would buy a few extra things every week and put them into the 'caravan box' for our week in northumberland, a whole 20 miles away!!!! I think I'll give the tinned potatoes and corned beef a miss though Smile

Badvoc123 · 02/11/2014 20:42

I have Xmas carrier bags...do they count? :)
I have;
Crackers
Candy canes
Tree chocs
Advent calendar
Wrapping, paper, ribbon, gift tags, gift bags
Some new decs
Stocking fillers
No food yet!

PingPongBat · 02/11/2014 20:44

Christmas crisps? Turkey flavour? Wink

catwithflowers · 02/11/2014 20:47

No, just posh ones which were two for one and which the kids are not allowed to touch til Christmas Eve!!!

LokiBear · 02/11/2014 20:49

Ok, I need a box. I also need it to be lockable so DH doesn't eat the food. I'm starting my pre - Christmas health kick tomorrow so I know I won't be tempted, but DH is terrible.
