CalifornifamousFANGjo no idea about Hawkins but do you have a mall near you with an all year Christmas Shop? Plus you can get the Martha stuff. She does a great Christmas.

I'm off to stalk the corridors of Ebay for stocking fillers. You can't buy anything decent in Oz.

mamamaaargh · 03/10/2006 02:34

Lipbalm/ glass
Sparkly nail varnish
nail varnish removing pads
Body spray-type thing
Glitter gel

(I can fill stockings for girls but what does santa get a 15 mo old boy?)

CalifornifamousFANGjo, do you have a cost plus world market near you? Ours often has little stocking-filler type things...

mamamaaargh · 03/10/2006 02:35

Ooops, meant gloss not glass. Lipgloss

Twirl · 03/10/2006 16:31

Just ordered some fab bits and bobs from www.yellowmoon.org.uk for stocking fillers for my 2.6 year old - lots of arts and crafty things, jigsaws, plastic father christmas mug which I know she will lurve, game etc. It is an excellent site for children of all ages and a percentage of what you pay for each item goes to Childline!

mamaaaarrgh, he gets them little wooden trains from ELC if they still do them, along with some plastic animals and a few cars

mamamaaargh · 03/10/2006 19:00

Thanks, tamum - we got some of those trains for his birthday and he loves them. Santa will have to visit the ELC!

swim goggles
little people sets

CMac · 04/10/2006 10:33

Foxinsocks - love the look of the 20Q thing and think it might be good for some of my neices. It says it's for ages 8+ but in your opinion would it be okay for younger kids too - age 5 or 6? Actually think my dad would love it and he's 65!

Milliways · 04/10/2006 15:56

Those Glo-Sticks from Poundland were a great hit here (get 20 in a tube).

DD likes make-up bits + a pair of earrings.

jodee · 04/10/2006 20:12

Can't remember what I did last year - do you wrap your stocking fillers or not?

janeite · 04/10/2006 20:49

Hana - we always do new toothbrush and toothpaste in stockings too! LOVE the cereal idea as my dds would think that was a huge treat. Last year we put them both a big bag of dried mango in their stockings and it was their favourite present!!! Strange children!

-fortune fish
-jelly beans

I got a few Jellycat things off Zippi which will be great stocking fillers.

Have also got a couple of those take along Thomas figures, fifi mug which has some sweets in, pants, socks.

curlew · 05/10/2006 10:22

For some reason we always have to have some post-it notes and a box of novelty plasters!

I also always put in a packet of interesting but plainish biscuits and a book in the hope - usually realized - that they will eat a biscuit or two before they pile in the sweeties and take a ten minute break with a new book in the midst of the chaos. The biscuits idea comes from my mother who always did it for us since my brother ate too much chocolate and threw up in 1958!

Bozza · 05/10/2006 10:27

Will probably also add choc coins and a small book for each child.

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 05/10/2006 11:45

Curlews post about post-its notes reminded me that last year DD had Blu-tack, sellotape and a sellotape dispenser in her stocking!

Theres someting about 6yr old girls and stationery bits and bobs!! She spent the whole of the previous year finding and hiding the smallest bits of BluTack she could find to make a stash of it so she was so excited to get a whole pack of it!

battybird · 05/10/2006 11:48

Santas selection and felt tip pens are essenyial items!

saltire · 05/10/2006 11:53

bozza, where did you get star wars tattoos? I have a 6yr old DS who would love them. He actually would like to be Luke skywalker - when he's not wanting to be Harry potter

Bozza · 05/10/2006 14:28

I got them from an Ebay shop. I will have a look and see if I can find it.
