Scent
Socks
Something soppy and personalised

choirmumoftwo · 18/10/2014 13:20

DH and I don't buy each other anything by mutual agreement. We usually take our parents out somewhere rather than buying something they don't want or need. Last couple of years, we've taken FIL to see Strictly-the live tour and my parents to a party night at a local hotel. This year it's ballet and a 10cc concert. Apologies if you meant partners and not parents!!

superbagpuss · 18/10/2014 13:22

no idea, we tend to get each other tickets/ experiences as our house is already full of tat Grin.

everydayaschoolday · 18/10/2014 13:43

gift vouchers for his favourite motorbike shop Hmm, a book by his favourite author, Thornton's toffee, variety pack (Wychwood) of real ales from Aldi, merchandise (t-shirt, beer glass) from his favourite beer (Hobgoblin) www.wychwood.co.uk/shop/products/gifts/?view=all

he's easy to please. Not much, he's happier seeing the kids having fun and eating homemade goodies Wink.

ipswichwitch · 18/10/2014 13:46

A new phone since his is on it's way out, and he doesn't want to change his current v. good deal (upgrade will mean paying more and he is a tightwad as far as spending on himself is concerned!)

Plan to get a slightly older model smartphone or possibly the Vodafone one if it's any good.

magpiegin · 18/10/2014 13:48

I'm buying him a Blueray player and bluerays .

FiveGoMadInDorset · 18/10/2014 13:49

Bread baking cloche

amy83firsttimer · 18/10/2014 13:54

Always some clothes as he'd wear the same things til they fall apart otherwise. Got a new hat, scarf and jumper so far. I've also got him a new pair of DM's as he's a recent convert (aged 30! - so happy). His birthday's 23rd Nov and we're expecting DC1 10/11 so trying to get organised now and will just split pressies across the 2 events.
Also got him a book and pyjamas actually - just need to get him a pair of jeans then I'll be done. Ooooooh, he gets a child too. How exciting!

gamerchick · 18/10/2014 13:54

Fishing stuff. He loves to cook his offerings and I'm happy to let him cook so win win Grin

Asteria · 18/10/2014 13:55

I usually get the usual socks and pants tat, along with anything unusual and chilli based (Daves Insanity Hot Sauce and a chilli plant last year) for his stocking. He got Dior Eau de Sauvage and a Cashmere jumper from me last year. The DC gave him books (military), sheepskin slippers and swanky silk thermals (he really feels the cold - bless!).
We have agreed not to get anything big for each other this year as we need a few bits for the house - but I will probably get the swanky kitchen knives he has been harping on about for months.

Asteria · 18/10/2014 13:56

Apologies for the over use of usual/usually in my last post!

Vivacia · 18/10/2014 14:04

I am very curious about how you chose your title!

JerseySpud · 18/10/2014 14:13

I'm buying DH a popcorn maker, dvd, smellies and boxers. Also some different flavours for the popcorn

My DD's are getting him a batman watch from Avon

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/10/2014 14:14

Goodness knows -
I'm going to venture Up Larndan to buy him some nice beer (that I will hide away till Christmas Eve)

A bottle of something (whisky)

He's ordered himself a coat (for me to give him for his birthday)

Usually he'll order some computer gadgets and put them on his Wishlist for me to order. (I do the same with things I like. Not saying he's clueless but he'd have no idea if he bought me clothes or toiletries )

WhatWouldBlairWaldorfDo · 18/10/2014 15:22

I think im either getting him a superdry coat or some new bloody expensive trainers for his main present. Then i'll get him some aftershave, a book/bluray, some sweets, etc.

BirdingWidow · 18/10/2014 15:54

I have got DH a very overpriced 160gb iPod classic - he has an 80gb that is too small for all his music and has also started playing up. However, they have been discontinued so are now around double the original price on eBay Shock. I am
Happy to get it for him as he hardly ever actually wants anything so usually I don't spend much. So that and a dr who t shirt (traditional gift!) and a leather case for his phone. And a keyring from notonthehigjstreet from DS, with a coin from the year of each of their births and an engraved disc with their names. Am pleased this year, I am usually very stuck!

LikeSilver · 18/10/2014 15:56

A Cookie Monster onesie
Beard oil
Gap jeans (the only ones that fit him nicely)
Chocolate bouquet thing
A dinosaur mug
Couple of Scandi crime drama books

I'm thinking about finishing it off with an annual pass for the Thinktank - he and DD both love it and I am having DS in January and it would get them out of my hair for the price of a train ride if necessary! Grin

PesoPenguin · 18/10/2014 16:23

No idea :( when DH wants something he wants it 'right now' < stamp, stamp, stamp >. He has more clothes than he'll ever need and all the gadgets he could want. He's not bothered about presents though so it'll be token things.

spottymoo · 18/10/2014 18:42

Bartlebee · 18/10/2014 20:00

I usually buy my dh lots of clothes as he never buys them for himself.

I'll also do him a stocking with his favourites like Vera Wang aftershave, Clarins for Men stuff, port/stilton, posh socks made of bamboo - that sort of thing..

CleaninQueen · 18/10/2014 21:08

A superdry hoody, aftershave, thorn tons fudge, fcuk shower set, personalised 'the joker' motorbike helmet and probably some other small stuff.
DSD is getting him an iPad Confused

anyoldname76 · 19/10/2014 00:43

I'm getting my dh a box set, either walking dead or game of thrones, a hobgoblin tankerd and bottle opener, an affliction t shirt and a bottle of aftershave (if anyone could recommend any?)

anyoldname76 · 19/10/2014 00:43

leesmum · 19/10/2014 00:55
