Can anyone throw some ideas at me please...I am stumped about presents for my new MIL and Nan-in-law.

MIL - budget around £20. She's in her early 50s, trendy and lovely. Likes gin, scotty dogs and baths (I bought her a posh bottle of gin last month for her birthday).

NIL - budget around £10. The kind of woman who has everything! No hobbies as such.

Any ideas gratefully received as DH is useless at presents.

fatballerina · 22/10/2014 15:41

My zavvi order was despatched a few days ago-initially it said there may be a delay but it seems to be in the post now-it was frozen and sleeping beauty I ordered.

IHeartKingThistle · 22/10/2014 15:47

Did IKEA today! Got masses of wrapping paper!

Their soft toys are lovely this year - lots of fairytale characters. My favourite was a frog who flips inside out to become a prince - they also had a lovely book of the Frog Prince and the toys matched the illustrations in the book. The two together would be a fab present, £11 altogether.

VinoTime · 22/10/2014 15:51

To the poster who was asking about Clubcard Boost (can you guess who I work for?!), it will be starting again on Monday I believe.

Oh, and keep an eye out on your receipts this week if you're in Tesco because they're doing the £5.00 off a £40.00 shop again (helping hand till coupon).

If you're after a Hudl any time soon, keep in mind helping hand and clubcard boost coupons could save you a fair chunk. I will pre-warn you though that staff double discount is back on this weekend, so certain electrical items and popular toys may suddenly be harder to come by, both in store and on Tesco direct. My store ran out of Hudl's completely last year at double discount time Blush

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 22/10/2014 15:57

Morton brown set arrived today. Lovely little set but glad I only paid £15 inc delivery! It's bloody tiny. Lovely gift packaging though.

DuelingFanjo · 22/10/2014 16:01

IceLemonGin what about these Journal

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 22/10/2014 16:03

Theonlyone my Sainsbury doesn't have the octopod n actually is only selling the newer stuff recently released n octonauts doesn't seem so big this yr so haven't noticed they had anything xtra in.

Titsalinabumsquash · 22/10/2014 16:16

My Sainsbury's had be ransacked, the shelves were a mess, I think it's awful how people behave in sales like this Hmm
I got stocking filler bits for the kids and that was it, I couldn't handle it being in there with the ladies with 2+ trolleys just grabbing box after box of the big ticket items as they were restocked they'll all be on selling sites by the end of the day!

Homebase's Christmas trees are all lovely and half price, I feel A bit sad that I've already got one in the loft Blush

IHeartKingThistle · 22/10/2014 16:17

I do moshis in the advent calendar too - I used ebay this year. Bundle of 30 for £10. If you don't need the packaging you might as well get them second hand!

snappybadger · 22/10/2014 16:30

I have a code for 25% off a £30 spend online at Matalan with click & collect if anyone needs it. It expires today though! Think it's one use only so whoever can use it first is welcome to it. Code is C839F5136B

BuffyFairy · 22/10/2014 16:34

Sainsburys had the toot toot vehicles for £4.32 each. Nothing much I needed in mine. No Thomas, Octonauts,Playmobil, MLP or Frozen left. They had a Peppa Pig playground set for about £25 instead of £40 and saw some big ticket items (keyboard, ride on train, balance bike). Lots of stuff for babies.

I asked DD (just turned 3) what she wanted Father Christmas to bring her...'I don't want anything. I have lots of toys.' Said rather indignantly! Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 22/10/2014 16:35

They'll have to start limiting what people buy at sainsburys. I think it's quite disgusting that people do that tbh. It just ruins it for everyone else Angry

dollybean · 22/10/2014 16:38

vinotime will the clubcard boost you speak of include toys? I need to get presents for friends children so this would make my cash go a bit further as I was told we agreed to a spend of £20 per child.

I really want to go to sainsburys but can't get there until this evening. Trying to weigh up if it's worth it as there is nothing specific I'm after- just wanting a nosy and maybe grab a few bargains Grin

MooseyMoo · 22/10/2014 17:20

Looks like a lot of Sainsburys bargains today! I picked up Disney cars Diecast for £3.65, Barbie ballerina for £3.99 and Galt Sparkle Mosaic £3.99, play cards for £1.33.

I spotted Baby Annabelle for £24.99 think it was bath time version, Elsa doll (Barbie size) for £12

VirtualPointyHat · 22/10/2014 17:27

A bit different but lastminute.com have tickets to see the Nutcracker performed by the English National Ballet at the London Coliseum for £11.50.

The seats are right up in the balcony, but it will be lovely and christmassy!

RJnomore · 22/10/2014 17:34

My sainsburys was VAIR civilised this morning. I did have to say excuse me to reach past another shopper and retrieve one of the pinkie pies but they apologised and moved out of my way Grin

So just waiting for dd to come in from her martial arts class and give her the doll which will make her v happy. I also spirited away an ever after high apple block doll down to £13.33 as well.

I will go back in a few days to see if I can get some wee stocking fillers, Lego friends bags or whatever, and maybe a star wars Lego thing for dd and DH to build together on Xmas day.

FarOverTheRainbow · 22/10/2014 17:34

Any ideas for my 2 year old DD who has way to many toys and just had her birthday?

WildFlowersAttractBees · 22/10/2014 17:43

Curryaddict, Sainsburys say the following are in the nectar double up this year:
• Tu clothing • Electricals • Entertainment • Homeware • Toys
• Taste the Difference still, sparkling & fortified wine
• Cards, gift wrap, decorations & gifting

LinzerTorte · 22/10/2014 17:50

santa SPEND10 gives free delivery on orders over £10 at the Book People (and WINGS gives 10% off a minimum spend of £15).

candykane25 · 22/10/2014 17:53

Rainbow there are lots of Usbourne wipe clean books on the Amazon four for ten pounds deal.

NorksEnormous · 22/10/2014 18:16

Farovertherainbow- does she have a kitchen? Dd is 2 and got it for her 2nd birthday and loves it. That and her disney princess little people castle are the two favourite toys!
